He usually teaches by doing one or two practice problems as a class, and then the rest is on you to teach yourself using the textbook problems he gives you. If you keep up with your work outside of class then you'll be able to understand the information enough to do well on his tests, which are the only thing he grades you on.

A lot of self-studying is definitely necessary, but he tries and is very funny. Tests are much easier than other professors.

Overall, Ken is an alright professor. He teaches the material mainly through example problems so you'll have to do a bit of self studying. I definitely enjoyed class as he often likes to crack jokes. The exams really aren't too difficult as long as you keep up with his constant example problems, and they're curved really nicely.

Ken Chung was an amazing professor. He taught in a way that was understandable to people who hadn't ever taken Orgo. He also was always able to make us laugh. By far one of my favorite professors ever.

I had Ken for general chem for health science majors and loved it. Thought it was pretty easy considering the majority of topics were covered in my high school chem class. He teaches mostly through example problems, so if that's not your style there's many khan academy videos I found helpful. If you go to class, you don't really need the textbook.

I had Ken Chung for orgo and loved him. He knows the material is hard and knows how to break it down so that you can understand it. His practice tests are very helpful for the exams and he reviews a lot. Grade is only made up of 3 exams, but he curves them nicely. He is HILARIOUS and I enjoyed his lectures

Chung is not a great professor. He has a really specific style that may be good for some but I found I difficult. Rather than teaching in a manner that explains the content, he teaches how to solve problems. Youre graded on 3 toUgh 20Q multiple choice exams. He scales a lot but that doesnt mean you know the material which you need for orgo 2

Grade was determined by three tests. He curves. I may be biased because I like chemistry but the class wasnt terribly hard. Even though he doesn't take attendance go to lectures they are very helpful. The textbook is good for clarifying concepts. Dont buy the new edition, just get the cheaper 8th edition.

ken Chung is so nice & funny. sometimes he gets off topic, as most of his teaching is done through examples. his tests are kind of hard but he scales the grades. he helps the class out tho & always answers questions or reviews a lot if a lot of people are confused. sometimes he may assume you know things so ask questions or ask for help. great guy

He is a wonderful goofy person but as a professor he could use improvements. You take 3 tests and thats it. His lectures tend to be useless and he goes off on story telling often. I would not say the material is hard but because of the lack of helpful lecturing I find that a few days before the test everyone teaches themselves the material.

My main man ken chung. He is ridiculous but you have to embrace it. I hadn't taken chemistry since sophomore year of hs (not AP) and the class was easy. He knows you're only there for the credit, so he scales a lot. Definitely do not worry about your grade, just show up for the performance.

Ken is a good guy and can be funny. He likes to compare the concepts with real world examples, BUT, that is where the good ends and the bad begins. This is supposed to be an ENTRY LEVEL CHEM course. He does not teach entry level Chemistry, he assumes that you know basic and not-so basic chemistry. Well what if you took Chemistry 10 years ago. Poor.

Pretty easy as long as you do the homework. Homework isn't collected or graded, but all the tests have very similar questions. Lectures a bit helpful, but if you still remember high school chemistry it's basically the same thing anyway.

If you were good at high school chem and remember it, then this class should be a breeze. You don't even have to go to class, just do the practice problems and you'll be fine. If chem was never really your thing, then Ken isn't that great. He teaches concepts well, but he goes off on tangents often and speeds through actual chem problems in class.

Very good prof. To get a good grade in his class you need : 1. Have taken IB or AP (then it's super easy) If you haven't taken APIB , then : 2. Read the book 3. DO THE HOMEWORK!!! - all the questions on tests are from the homework In other words, he isn't a hard teacher, pretty good at lectures . If you do the HW , you will get an A .

LOVE Professor Chung! His lectures are extremely easy to understand since he draws everything out on the board. Doesn't make you memorize anything and says he'll even tell you unit conversions or any equations while taking the test. My interest in Chemistry has increased immensely after taking his class.

Ken Chung is a legond! If you actually study you can get an A, his powerpoint and test questiones are copied right from the book. If you don't go to class read the book, if you do go to class all you need to do is a few practice problems that he tells you to.

Doesn't explain anything. Going to class only confuses you more. Taught myself everything with the practice problems in the textbook. It was brutal and it was an intro class. Get a different teacher if you can!
