She is intimidating but clearly very intelligent. Over the semester she warms up to the class more and more. Be prepared to write a lot & make sure you turn in your homework every day in the daily submissions because it will heavily affect your grade. Ask her for help !!! Especially in lab days. And just show up to class, she appreciates that.

It's an English class, of course there will be many papers. I feel like the prompts were very hard because they were so general, it was a bit overwhelming. She grades very hard but her feedback definitely helps you prepare for the next essay.

English 101 with Professor Lane requires a lot of work to learn lots and finish with a good grade. If you really want to learn to be a better writer and researcher, this is the class for you. If you haven't much care for this course other than meeting a requirement, take English 101 with a different professor or online, much lighter on the grading.

Professor Lane includes due dates on essay rough drafts to help you avoid waiting until the last minute to complete your essay final drafts before theyre turned in. She offers constructive feedback on essays to improve your writing. I learned many writing skills in her class. Thank-you very much for helping me succeed in Rhetoric, Professor Lane!

The class can be tough, but shes very open and fair about grading. If you actually put in the work youll do fine. Wish she would post grades more often, but beyond that shes very understanding and willing to help. Just dont miss class!

Prof Lane is awesome. She brings up real world topics in her lecture and keeps what we do in class relevant with the world. I have learned a lot from her and her teachings. I am truly grateful i got to meet her and learn from her. Would definitely take her class again. Make sure to pay attention in class and participate and work hard! :)

Lots of papers! What is expected is different than use to. Dont know your grade until the end. Does give good feed back but doesnt coddle you so you need to participate in class so you know what is expected for your paper

Be prepared to peer review day. Prof doesn't teach much basically just wants us to teach each other. Doesn't explain things thoroughly or clearly. Doesn't put anything in the grade book. Low feedback. Maybe used the textbook once? Brings donuts though..

The class is a bit difficult but I appreciate her a lot as an english teacher, and i feel like i genuinely got better at writing. She is always willing to ask questions and edit your papers, so there is no reason to be confused or struggle. Also a really nice and understanding person.

Make sure you are always there for class she takes away a lot of points from your grade if your absent. There will be a lot of papers so, be prepared for that. She's a nice person very thoughtful and respectful but she was a hard teacher.

Her teaching style isn't great. All we do during class is peer edit and, when she feels like it, she will teach us something. She has you bring a copy of your paper for her to look at but doesn't look at what you want her to. She just skims over it and isn't much help in class. She helps more-so 1-on-1, outside of class.

Do not utilize SparkNotes or anything similar otherwise it will be an automatic 0. She takes forever to respond to emails. If absolutely need to take this course do NOT take it with her take it with another professor or at the university, you're transferring to. She grades very tough. Be prepared to not ace everything.

Worst professor ever, do not take her. She grades so hard it's ridicoulous, I got A's on all my papers in high school and she dishes out C's and D's. She's a terrible person too, avoid her at all costs.

Professor Lane is a very nice person and really understanding. She is a really tough grader. I could barley keep a B on my papers. She can be unclear on assignments. Overall, she is a good teacher and will help you if you don't understand something, but you have to ask for help. She doesn't hold your hand.
