His use of English and Spanish is shakey at best. Does not explain material in a logical way. Drifts off in the middle of a sentence. Does not listen to students. The only thing he teaches you is how important SpanishDict because it's the only way you'll pass.

Comment:

He is not clear about how he grades you and doesnt weigh anything in blackboard. So your grade is just a fun gamble until after the semester. He wants a shoe box (about) full of notecards, lowers your grade in the class if you dont have enough, but wont give you a number. Super unclear way of teaching a language that he thinks is genius.

He's a nice guy who cares about your grade probably more than you. He wants to make sure that you understand and do well on quizzes. There are no tests but an easy quiz every week. He wants flashcards and will drop some of your lowest grades. Don't be late to classes, he writes it all down. Overall take him if you can.

I loved having him as a teacher! He cares about his students and really made sure that I was doing well even though I was absent. His syllabus was long, but he is really great and knows what he is talking about.

Actually emailed me about my absences and worked things out about them! His syllabus and other materials tend to go on and on. Little test every week, and at the end he'll drop a few of the lower ones. Will sometimes go on tangents about the countries he's visited. And also the alphabet song. If I never have to hear that again it will be too soon.

very helpful, uses the book for exercises. Focus on proper accent and encourages all spanish in class. Always available for help, and very clear in explaining. Has a lot of personal experience to make the class content more rich.

Comment:

A nice teacher overall but the class was not challenging enough. After two years of French it seems the class wasn't really advancing. He needs to have more oral practice of the language and stop using the book so much which proves to be rather unhelpful. His attendance policy is also a giant pain in the butt.

The first semester it seemed we covered a lot more material than in later semesters. After two years we made it 1/2 through the text. Lack of oral exams and practice in practical situations made language hard to use. Great guy, but class needs to be more challenging if students want to learn the language.

Good teacher who is willing to help but because he knows so much its hard for him to focus. he has a lot on his plate when it comes to teaching. like 10 classes total. but very understanding if you need help but you need to show initiative he wont help you otherwise. DO ALL homework and show up to EVERY class. he will penalize if you dont.

AWESOME professor! He looks scary and intimidating, but he's really nice. He has a strange sense of humor. He gives a lot of quizzes but no tests, mid terms, or finals (optional). He wants you to learn the language and succeed. He's not out to get you and fail you. Lot's of group work and singing.

Really nice guy who knows what he's talking about, but don't bother asking a question - he'll either tell you to read the syllabus, or will go on for a 20 minute lecture. Is an easy grade, and you will improve in speaking, but don't expect much grammar.

This guys is the worst teacher ever. You ask a question in class and he tells you to read the 50 page syllabus for the answer. At the end of the semester you need to turn in a portfolio of all the work you did the entire semeter (nothings due in the class until then) and if you are missing ONE thing he gives you an incomplete. I learned nothing.

The amount of work that you are expected to complete is absolutely ridiculous- more than a major class. I learned no Spanish whatsoever; he just plays videos and movies and expects you to read exercises from the book to each other. You'd learn more watching the Spanish channel for ten minutes a day. Its infuriating.

was the biggest joke of a class ever. If I had to liken it to a previous language class I'd compare it to 6th grade spanish except I probably learned more in 6th grade. Covered Less than 100 pages in Two Damned semesters I hate this guy

Very, Very fun class! He does require a lot of index cards for the words, but overall easy. Easy quizzes, which there are a lot of, but again they're EASY!!! Incorporates songs into lessons.The book is used for all spanish levels here so you wont need to buy another book if you move on!That's a plus
