She's full of energy so it keeps you interested most of the time. Don't wait until the last minute to study. Make flash card or something every week with context behind the buildings and vocabulary definitions and stuff. She gives lots of bonus points for attendance and also extra credit questions. Always sucked at history but I made it through.

Comment:

Dr. Sexton has a great personality and knows what she is talking about. You will read and answer questions for every class, but the questions are always easy to find in the text and help you to understand the lecture. Definitely easy if you have any sort of knowledge on art or architecture. Only 3 tests (essay), no papers.

Dr. Sexton is one of the best faculty at our school. She's insightful and works hard and expects the same of you. I would suggest attending class every day, taking notes, and doing the small homework assignments. She's clear about what she expects and if you have difficulty with the material, she's happy to meet with you.

Dr. Sexton is very helpful and easy to talk to. She is extremely knowledgeable of the material and makes the class very interesting. Also, she provides many aids such as posting lectures and slides online. Do the small amount of reading,take good notes and you should do well. Warning! Falling asleep in class and tardiness are her pet peeves.

Clearly has a passion about Architecture History and knows what she is talking about, If you are interested in Architecture, I'm sure you will enjoy her class. If you do not have a great interest, stay away, it is very hard to adapt and write a paper that she will like. I will not take her again as she obviously plays favorites.

She is ridiculously hard and you have to spend a lot of time on her classes but you learn so much. And not just about architecture but things to help with other disciplines as well. If you want a challenging course where you will learn, take her class.

This class is ridiculous and I pray for any individual that ever has to deal with this human being. She expects us to have been the actual architect of ever building she ever discusses. I cant tell you what this woman reminds me of because it would be immediately deleted from this site.

Comment:

Dr. Sexton is now my favorite professor. She has been a huge inspiration to me and I have decided to be an Architectural Historian. Her class is good, hard work.. but give a good feeling of accomplishment. Her lectures are extremely interesting and powerpoints are colorful and full of pictures. A great challenge.

Dr. Sexton provides lecture notes daily, which are very helpful. She is VERY helpful if you show that you're trying. Great use of visuals. Tests are challenging, but fairly graded. On the whole, an interesting and enjoyable class.

Nice woman if you get on her good side. It's also easy to get stuck on her bad side considering she has a good memory when it come to faces and names. She won't forget you so give her something good to remember you by. A good first impression will help your grade considerably.
