Professor Backhaus quickly became my favorite professor. The material in Strategic Management is not the most interesting material, but she was able to make coming to class more enjoyable than expected. Her willingness to help/understand goes far above the average professor.

This professor is the closest thing to a "perfect" teacher that one can get. Her classes are interesting, you learn alot but she actually makes you WANT to learn it. Also, extremely caring of students, goes out of her way to help lost souls....

She is a great teacher. Doesn't babble like some teachers, makes really good use of examples and gets students involved in discussions without making them feel uncomfortable. She is not an "easy" professor, she is an "effective" teacher. Overall professor Backaus is a good teacher, I highly suggest taking her class,you will not be dissapointed.

Even if you have no interest in the topic, her teaching style and enthusiasm will grab you. Each class is not only interesting, but informative. Some say easy and simplistic, but, I disagree, the thoughts and theories go beyond that. A lot of info is covered on the test, so be sure to take good notes (she does provide detailed study guide).

Dr. Backhaus is a true scholar in the management field! Her classes are hands on and very enjoyable but her tests and assignments are very challenging. They make you think like a manager which is very crucial to learning the material. She grades tough but fairly as long as you put the effort in.
