Kuhns is a hilarious and awesome guy. We talk about lots of current and relevant issues and it is never really boring. We have a good number of quizzes but they are only 4 questions. Tests are 50 questions and are somewhat difficult if you don't study for them. I got a B and didn't even open the textbook.

Kuhns is downright hilarious and he knows the field inside and out. Be prepared to think and get called on if you're zoning out (which shouldn't happen because he keeps it interesting). You will leave with a solid knowledge of law enforcement and a lifetime of hilarious quotes.

If you are late for class, you will not pass this class. He gives quizzes during the first 2 minutes of class and if you are late, you will get a 0. The tests are not all that hard. Attendance will get you the grade you need. If you attend class regularly, take notes, and are early (not on time) than you will pass. The class was pretty interesting.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. So funny and nice, and really knows how to keep class interesting. The key to doing well in this class is attendance

Best class I have taken so far because of Kuhns. He keeps the class interested and is entertaining. Gives you notes to print out to fill out during class. Tells you what will be on every tests. There are pop quizzes, so just come to class. I used the text a lot, but some people never even opened it. Great class and take any class that he teaches.

GREAT PROFESSOR! He teaches what you need to know for the test and what you need to know on the streets. Took as many classes with him as possible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had him in Spring 13. He is a pretty nice guy and knows what he's talking about and has a lot of experience in the field of Law Enforcement. His side stories of a plus. Just study, take notes, and try to read the book. It's not totally necessary, but he might give a pop quiz if too many people don't. I highly recommend him.

Kuhns has a great personality and lots of interesting stories to tell. HOWEVER, his tests ARE NOT easy. He gives notes on a powerpoint and none of that will be on the test. The best advice if you're stuck with him: buy the books, read the books (esp. the one he wrote). I studied hard for the tests and still managed to do bad. Good luck.

The class, should be an easy class. Kuhns makes it difficult. Great guy, horrible professor. I have a B in the class so don't say it's because I don't study. I study tremendously and barely pass his tests with B's. Pop quizzes that are 4 questions long. Makes his ridiculous self-edited book required and forces it on his exams. Mediocre professor.

AWESOME professor. I've had him for Law Enforcement and Rsch Methods and got an A in both courses. He's hilarious and extremely nice. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives a lot of pop quizzes. Exams come straight from the notes. I'd recommend to take him for any class he's lecturing. He definitely made me enjoy Criminal Justice.

Great guy and teacher. He is very interesting and tells a lot of stories. The class isn't the easiest though. You have to read the books, study power points, and attend class to get a decent grade. He doesn't go over everything in the book but expects you to know it for the test... so read and you will do fine. I would recommend.

he is great, lots of stories, very interesting and informative, but watch out: you gotta read book, otherwise will not pass the exam, his lectures mostly do not have anything to do with questions on the exams AND questions sometimes are off and not really thought through, he admits that, so the really bad questions are taken out by him when grading

He's gives great study guides throughout the course, and tells very interesting stories. Great professor. Though I would have learned more if we could have used all five weeks (it was a summer term) instead of cramming it into only 9 school days.

Great professor, class is very interesting, he has a bunch of little stories he'll tell to waste time when need be! Don't fall asleep or walk in late, he'll embarrass you but it's funny for everyone else! His tests are tricky, gives easy pop quizzes. Book is only used 15%, taking notes, paying attention, and knowing the powerpoints are paramount.

Dr. Kuhns is a good professor. His tests and quizzes are not too bad as long as you remember absolutely everything he says and read every word in the book. He did bring in some very interesting guest speakers, but he had a tendency to get off topic pretty easily although the off-topic discussions were interesting.

Without question, the hardest, toughest and most difficult to please professor I have had to date. Also, one of the VERY best. If you want an easy A, look elsewhere. If you want to LEARN, give him a try. He is both tough and fair. Good experience overall.

Kuhns is awesome. He gives quizzes as an incentive to come but no attendance. Methods was a breeze compared to the other class I took with him. He lets you pick the first day of class what percentages the class wants for each assignment. Super sarcastic, and fun. He is cute too. Love him. My favorite teacher at uncc. Helpful outside of class too.
