Comment:
Her tests are pretty straight forward and as long as you read the book and utilize the study guide it's an easy A. Make sure to do the extra credit assignment. Her lectures are somewhat boring and irrelevant to the material on the exam and her accent can sometimes make it difficult to comprehend her, but otherwise she is a decent professor.

She is a very sweet teacher, but extremely boring and WAY difficult to understand, with her accent. Gives tons of textbook readings which you need to stay on top of to pass the class. Also gives extra credit which I recommend highly.

Go to the class, read the book! With the review sheets she posts before the tests, you will get an A!(Make sure you do the extra credit too)

Textbook is a big must. Exams are based on textbook readings, lectures, and movies shown in class. If you want an A, make sure you read. There was an extra credit assignment to write approx 2 page paper and/or presentation.

She is indeed boring but she's an Easy A! just make sure you go to the TA's review session, watch the movies she shows you and Write the extra credit paper which takes like 2 hours!! I love this woman! She's the only A I have this semester!

She did not stay on topic and would ramble a lot about random things. She is EXTREMELY boring and can put the class to sleep. You have to read the textbook in order to do well on the tests and you have to go to the review sessions otherwise this class is kinda impossible.

Professor Cole is extremely sweet but she is incapable of teaching. Her syllabus is inaccurate because she never finishes lessons; every lecture usually trails off with pointless class discussions. Her TA, Rose really helps with each exam: she sets up review sessions and uploads helpful review sheets on Blackboard. Cole is difficult to understand.

Hard to understand. Strong foreign accent. Class attendence a must. Half of class failed tests. Very difficult stuff with highest grades average around 80 or so. Only good thing about her class is the ability to get about 20 points in extra credit, which is necessary to get a decent grade. I did not learn one thing from the whole class. BEWARE

Had low expectations signing up for this class. I don't know what I was thinking but I know the A was easy to get. The class based on exams and there's even an extra credit paper! The first few weeks was rough but believe it or not I eventually looked forward to attending class! Dare you enter the world of Maria Cole?

OK. Dr. Cole got me so lost for a few weeks that I didn't go to class for like 4 sessions in a row. But relying on the texts (which are both written by Feminist Authors) wasn't enough to excel. The only problem was that the lectures were not totally coherent to the point of data that conflicted other data on the same facts. Try to avoid but ok.

Was very interested in the class when I signed up, but after 3 weeks I knew it wasn't going to be as good as I thought it would be. Read the text, its more interesting then her lectures and help you understand more. Always thought I did well on her tests, walked away with 70's. Oh & one of her TA's is very rude, if prof isn't there she teaches.

As strange as it seems, the textbook readings are more interesting than her lectures. She was out yesterday and a TA took over the lecture - it was the most interesting class we've had so far. The tests are easy if you do the readings - the lecture is mostly going over what we read. All in all, very easy but very boring.

Terrible professor. I didn't learn anything new in her class. A lot of theoretical stuff, but nothing you could ever use in life. She's very opinionated, she should not be a professor at all.

It is somewhat difficult to understand her English, which in turn made the class slightly boring. It wasn't really a difficult class& didn't require much work, it was just boring. A lot of required reading that I never did, but still passed with a B.

Her tests are extremely easy. If you understand anything about gender studies, pay attention in class or read the textbook, you should ace the class. And she doesn't talk about Poland as much as everyone says she does...

Absolutely horrible. She does not teach sociology, she does not teach anything. She doesn't even make the exams. The TA's make the exams, these exams do not test perspective, they test the rote.

understanding what she saying is impossible. all things about poland and feels like her language is poland more than english. the tests are extremely hard. it means not it is reasonably hard. just useless hardness. too much reading stuff and too many trivial questions on test and discussion in the lecture.

OMG. If you do take her class be prepared to study your ass off out of the text book. Her lectures come straight from the text and her opinion is the only opinion that matters. Expect to be shot down if you participate in discussion.
