She is tough but want you to take all you can out of the class. She is also fun and connects a lot of what we do to our lives. Her grading can be kind of confusing but if you read and prepare for discussions then you are good. Vocabulary is important.

Dr. Menson-Furr is a great representation of a college professor. She is blunt but she does It to teach her students to mature into adults. If you participate, you are sure to get a good grade. It is necessary to go to class but she usually lets out early for you to walk to your next class. Definitely reach out to her during office hours

She is a good teacher. I didn't like the gossip or constructive criticism on character if desired behavior isn't displayed. We did a ton of work and didn't receive a grade until the very end. Yet, we all learned a lot from her. She is personally a good person of character.

Dr. Menson-Furr is an amazing professor. She doesn't enforce attendance, but hearing her lecture will be extremely beneficial to your notes and tests. The books were good enough that I decided to keep them instead of sell them. This class makes you think and she does not accept surface level answers and work. It's easy if you actually do the work.

I took Dr. Menson-Furr this summer. I loved her. This is a class where reading is very important. You will earn your grade. Sometimes it seemed like a lot was required, but it's only to benefit you. Some people may find her intimidating but that's just her personality. I would definitely take her again.

<3 She does an attendance quiz everyday on the material that you were to read before class. At the end of the semester she gave out a whopping 40 points to haelp each student. Of course you had to do some work for those points but it helped a lot. She takes no bs be prepared to read but her class is only hard if you make it! TAKE THIS CLASS PPL!

Dr. Menson-Furr was an awesome professor. Prior to attending this class I had no interest in this subject. Because of her knowledge in the subject and her delivery of the material, I not only learned so much about African American Literature but also now possess a great appreciation for the art.

I took her during a summer session and she is very demanding and her lectures and class participation is what makes the class worth while. I enjoyed this class to the fulliest but only take her class if you don't have another in the summer. I lack in my other class and grade wasn't the best. If yoy make an A it was well earned.

She was one of the best professors I've ever had. She really cares about her students. She doesn't take BS, but If theres an issue or u just need help w/ class& papers GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS and she will help you. Sitting up front and speaking your mind will get you far. Really study IDs for test, &do extra credits. Shes a little intimidating but she has a big heart. #1 rule w/ her is to always be respectful. This was my favorite class this semester. I got an A, &I would take her again.

Dr. Menson-Furr is a great professor. At the beginning, I was a litle afraid. But I am SO glad I stayed in her class. She loves class discussions, and as the semester progress the class gets more relaxed. You MUST read to pass the tests and if you do you will do great! LOVE HER

She told us that she set up this class like her graduate class and she wasn't joking. This class was too demanding and took a toll on my other classes. She don't like to grade so I don't know how you're doing b4 the drop date. Interesting material and I got a B out the class but it nearly killed me. Think before you take this 4000 level class!

I absolutely LOVED Prof. Menson-Furr. If you're looking for an easy A she isn't the professor for you. She is very thorough and helpful.She LOVES people to participate in class.She doesn't tolerate non-sense. So DON'T try it with her. She's very demanding with her assignments but you can tell it's only for her students best interest!!! LOVE HER!!!
