Professor Laurel Elder is one of the most highly respectable and hotsy-totsy boo thang I have ever met. Put a little pilgrim hat on her and she looks like she's straight off the Mayflower.

For starters, Professor Elder is the most helpful faculty member in the Political Science department. She is always available, ready to listen and advise, and truly cares about your education. In class, she is extremely clear about her expectations for coursework, and follows the syllabus very closely. No surprise questions on tests and quizzes.

Professor Elder is a good professor, but she should probably be a little more considerate when it comes to student's needs. She takes attendance very hard. I remember one semester where I was ill for over three months and had a death in my family and she was still docking my grade!

I had Laurel as my professor for over 5 classes. In addition she was my thesis advisor. I couldn't have asked for better guidance. She is a very tough grader, but if you study correctly you can receive an A. Other than that, she does not hate attractive women, she wrote me a a fabulous letter of recommendation and we still keep in touch.

Not the best teacher. Seems to prejudge pretty heavily. She doesn't care for attractive women, so be careful if you happen to be one and you're going in her class. She is smartish but she's also prep-school passive aggressive. Not the best trait for a teacher.

i heart prof elder. she started the same year I was a freshmen and she was my advisor. she helped me from my first week up until I graduated. she wrote me many letters of recommendation, was my thesis advisor, and was always available when I needed help
