Comment:

Funny guy. Very funny but for a three hour lecture, you take a 14 minute break and leave half an hour early. Legit gives the exact copies of the midterm AND final two weeks before. Gotta write three concert papers and 3 papers on different music periods. Very easy. Just look up music in the concert, listen and write. 1 page double spaced. Easy prof

Comment:

Professor Eisman does not believe in lecturing. Participation and discussion are really important in his eyes. He also has a very distinct sarcastic sense of humor. So if you don't like speaking up, or if you get insulted easily, you shouldn't take his class. Get ready to memorize 100+ definitions for the tests, and prepare for the listening exams.

Comment:

If you're not music savvy than be ready to memorize a lot of terms for both the midterm and final. He literally gives you a copy of the midterm and final a week before, it is up to you if you memorize the terms. You also have to write 5 papers (2-3 pages) and attend and write 4 concert reports (2 pages). I enjoyed the class, he was entertaining.

Prof Eisman is funny. In the beginning of class he can scare you but he's just being sarcastic. His work were not hard. You just attend 4 concerts, write a report, take a midterm and a final. Do all assignments and you'll do well. Just go to class on time because he counts attendance and lateness.

HE IS SO GREAT! Really not a hard class. No homework besides a few concert reports and a few papers-they're all like 3 pages long so it's really nothing. You learn a lot and he is really amazing. He's really sarcastic and witty so he might scare you at first because you don't know if he's joking or not. I recommend to everyone!

I should have gotten an A! I went to all the concerts, and did the assignments and did very well on those exams. He takes of a lot of points for being absent 3 days, but I did do the extra credit assignments to compensate for my absences. I could just imagine the grade I could have had if I didnt do them. Overall, hes great just make sure u go!

Amazing music professor. Loved his class. Don't really need the textbook. Come to class and pay attention. Take notes and you will pass. Grades are based on midterm and final. Gives u chapter outlines and have to go to 4 concert and write a 2 page report. He's very funny also. Prepares you for each exam with review.

Solid teacher! He gives the usual load of work. Bases grade mainly off midterm and final. Definitely prepares you for both with very solid and to the point notes. If you need the requirement - this is the class to take!! He's really nice too.

He's nice and hilarious. However, you have to pay close attention to his lecture since everything he talks about in class might be on both midterm and final. He does give out the review sheets which are the exactly the same questions as the midterm and final before the testing dates, however, he prefers you to use his lecture notes as the answers.

You can sense his passion of music through his teaching. But you have to be really open minded to early periods of music because it can be pretty boring! Must attend 4 concerts in total. Midterm & final are intense because there is LOTS of material. Midterm had 40 identification terms & then some. Not so much an easy A but would recommend.

He was great. He gave 3 simple outline papers nd 3 concert music reports. 2 u didnt have 2 pay 4, 1 u did. Basically the midterm is hard he gives u about 36 vocab 2 memorize and listening part is hard, but the final is a little easier.u have 2 attend class 2 get all these notes nd words unless you get the notes from someone else.he was funy nd cool

awesome professor who really teaches out of love for music. he introduces the class to all different types of music, and even brings in some music majors to give mini performances to the class. work and tests are simple, just make sure you keep up with the class and participate.

Prof. Eisman is a great professor. His teaching methods are great, he makes you appreciate history of music and the different types of music around the world, he completely changed the way I perceived music, if you study and do the work which is not a lot, and attend the 3 concerts, there's no way you can't get an A in this class.

This class is a must with him. Breaks down information to understandable level. GIVES YOU MIDTERM AND FINAL A WEEK IN ADVANCE. Really helps written part, listening part is not too hard either. glad i took this course. try to participate, he doesnt really care for students just sitting there like mindless zombies, do you blame him?

I am going to be so upset when this semester is over! This man is the absolute best! I had no interest in this class until I took it with this man. He's amazing!! A lot of material for the tests though, but relatively simple just alot of memorization. 3 orchestra concerts and 1 choral..not bad

Great professor!..I came into this class because I needed the credits but he made the class very interesting. He jokes a lot which is a comic relief for a class that is 3 hours long! His grading is very fair. He gives out the mid-term and final to take home and study! Which is smart because that way people will study! I definitely recommend Eisman!

I am in love with this man! He is hilarious! It was a 3 hr long class and I was upset when it ended! He is a great teacher, I really learned alot and he truly cares about the material and the students. He works hard so that everyone enjoys the class and understands everything. I wish I could take it all over again! TAKE THIS CLASS IT IS A MUST!
