Comment:

Don't believe all of the awful reviews. Med Surg 2 is a hard class and I don't see how it could've been taught any different. The best way to contact is through blackboards email system. Tests are hard but very fair. Reading before class will make this class 1000x easier. Review your test! Get help with the paper!

Comment:

I had Lind McKay for medical surgical nursing two. I thought that Professor McKay was a great teacher and explained things well. She was more then willing to meet and help her students. The only thing I did not like was the exams. In order to pass the class you need to read and re-read.

Comment:

Extreme lack of communication with this professor! Emails are never returned, but if you get in touch with her secretary then you may get a response. When you are able to get in touch with her, she is very helpful and explains what she is looking for.

Comment:

Not a horrible class, but Linda is more concerned with being the department head than she is with helping her students. Vindictive, cruel, and inflexible. Everything revolves around her NCLEX pass statistic. Very hard to receive help or guidance as she is so difficult to contact.

Comment:

My biggest complaint w/ Prof. McKay was in her inflexibility with test questions. In classes such as MedSurg2 ea. point counts, & each test has 2-3 questions that could've went either way. Other than that she is a tough but fair grader. Prepared for all her lectures and genuinely cares about the development of each student and the nursing program

Never had her as a teacher, but I like her as an advisor because, although she is hard to contact, she is very accommodating and helpful once you get a hold of her. She has made things quite easy for me, and she shows great willingness to help. I am actually surprised to see such poor ratings for her from others.

If you're still in NURSING major at this point, good luck. The final bashing begins here, and if you make it through the end all bash is the Hessy exam. This is not a good class and this prof won't be able to give much help or feedback. tests poor

Horrible person, decent teacher. She could care less about students passing her class which is evident by how hard she grades the papers and clinical excursions (two things which should be grade boosters considering the difficulty of class content).

She's very limited in her abilities as a teacher. She seems as though she could care less about her student's success, and acts too good to respond to emails. Her questions are way too difficult and don't correlate well with what she goes over in class.

Since becoming acting chair, Linda hasn't been around much but taught some of the class content. Tough grader on papers and the tests were horrible! Was hard to find for questions related to the paper but class content taught by her was made more clear. Nice on approach. Class flew by and she made the content somewhat interesting.

Very nice, and fun. Great clinical indstructor. The class is easy if you study. She made it easy in class because she explained things really well. Overall very nice.
