I recommend Professor Gatch to anyone needing to take government. He's super chill and laid back. I didn't really use the textbook because I was able to access it on Mindtap. Homework is online and can be simple. First test was a bit easy, but the tests after were more difficult.

Study Guides worthless, Online work is easy! He really funny and lighthearted but rants all class-he MIGHT get thru 3 slides each class cause of all the talking. 1st test was easy but the midterm was ridiculous, nothing like the SG or online work 80 percent of class failed it. He's understanding tho & will take time to help everyone

Loved this class! I probably went like once a week because it isnt mandatory to show up. Im his lectures he doesnt talk about anything you need for the test so no need to really show up. Just do the study guide and study it before the test, do the mindtapw assignments every week (which are easy) and you will be fine!

I really enjoyed his class. Lectures are very interesting, and you can tell he cares for his students. Does not take attendance. Weekly homework online, but super easy and if you miss one he will re open it for you. Amazing professor

Such a great guy. He is an easy grader and a very understanding teacher. He is always willing to work with you if you have any complications. He likes to joke around which is always good. He gets off topic sometimes, but everything he talks about is interesting. Highly recommend!!!!

This class is not mandatory to go to, but HIGHLY recommended. If you don't study, this class will be difficult because he gets off topic during his class lectures and loses everyone. He is a super laid back and easy going professor, just don't procrastinate.

Comment:

Dr. Gatch is a good professor. You don't really have to show up to class. He kind of losses everybody during his class, because it's some heavy material, but then he jokes around with people once in awhile. Not many things to get graded on, so it's important to do good on those. He gives a study guide and if you study that good, you'll be fine!

Professor Gatch is passionate about government and that makes it more interesting but hes lecture heavy. 2 tests, a paper, weekly online assignments, and the final are your grade so do well on the first 2 tests!

Gatch is a pretty cool professor. He's really sarcastic and kinda pervy at times but he is super lenient on attendance and grading. I ditched like 5 or 6 class periods in a row and still got an A. There are one or two papers but he's pretty chill and just goes with the flow. 10/10 would recommend. and the Mindtap is REQUIRED.

Professor Gatch is hands down my most favorite college professor I have ever had. His lectures are not only informative and educational, but always fun and engaging. He provokes thought in his students in ways that forces you to think outside of your usual thought patterns. His course load is fair and his tests come straight from the lectures.

Comment:

I took Dr. Gatch for Comparative Politics and forever was my mind interested on international politics! He makes class very interesting and is most spontaneously funny professor I have ever taken! I've taken 3 of his classes. Tests are tough and he expects you to give his classes your best shot. Watch out for his Siracha sauce!;) I highly recommend
