She was weird in some ways but she does know how to teach. Do the DNs and you'll be good. she makes a 6-page essay seem less intimidating and easier to write.

The class had little structure it was "what ever we feel like" One day she split the class in two and said "do something" I suggested an idea for our group project and she lost her mind. She began to yell at me for being a Male and making women feel uncomfortable because of my loud voice. Essentially shoot yourself in the foot so women succeed.

DNs are easy, essays too if you do the DNs. I missed class, she canceled often and still I had an A by staying up to date, however she lacks organization, she sprung a fourth essay on us after finals week, I got the notification before boarding a flight, was unable to finish it in two days, I emailed her and received NC after a semester of work.

Her class is really fast-pace, do DNs and youll be fine. Essays are like midterms. She really picky about every paper you give to her. Be ready to waste money on hard copies. Dont ever miss a whole week of class.

Professor Olsons writing style is different from your usual english class but I learned a lot and was able to apply her style to papers from other classes. The readings she gives really make you think and she has a lot to say. I loved attending her class. Do the DNs, theyll help with your essays. Dont take advantage of her leniency.

An outlier in her teaching styles, but by no means are they sub par to other engl classes. She gives you new perspectives about life and reading and as challenging as the class may seem, it is very doable. It's not sitting around reading boring sh*t like your usual class, it's not a class that you can cruise and pass, take it, learn from it.

Prof Olson is an amazing teacher with a lot to teach, as long as you're willing to listen. Sit in the front of the class and absorb it all; it's definitely worth it. She'll challenge everything you know about English classes for the better.

This lower division course was hard, the only piece of paper we got the whole semester was the syllabus. No prompt for essays, assignments are vague. She's very disorganized, didn't grade anything until the last week and she grades very critically. (Anxiety..) Rants and yells often. Teaches her writing style, will get an F if you don't follow it.

Man, she can be intimidating but she is a great English teacher. I have learned a lot form her; her assignments where confusing from time to time but it all made sense at the end. And the assignments at the end were really resourceful for the papers and she had a good method for making papers. I highly recommend her even though she may seem hard.

Your class will depend on her mood. If she's in a bad mood, expect lots of yelling from her. She has a really bad temper and will break off into ranting easily. She also follows a really strict grading criteria that she "perfected" and made herself. She will grade you brutally. I was lucky enough to figure out her grading and pass with an A.

Her class gave me anxiety. Her teaching style on how to write papers is completely different than usual. She said writing a paper her way would be an easy way to pass the WPE but I still failed. The second time I took the WPE I did it the usual way and I passed! She takes out her anger on students, mostly rants and yells in class.

I loved her, her straight-forward personality and lack of a filter took the stress off my shoulders at the end of the day. She hilarious, but I also thoroughly enjoyed how passionate she is about teaching her students meaningful material. Show up to class and do the DN's! 3 Essay's and no final. Lenient, but don't take advantage.

I was just a freshman and went into this classroom knowing nothing about her reputation and OH MY GOD! Definitely wouldn't recommend for first year students. Tough grader and says upfront you'll end up with a C or D. She gave no instructions on our first assignment. I appreciate that she treats us like adults, but she needs to tone it down a notch.

Absolutely THE WORST PROFESSOR i have ever had to take. Her behavior and the thing she talks about is definitely a mental illness. She yells at you and your class. Literally yells at the top of her lungs and is very aggressive and she looks like she will snap at any moment. Definitely a screw loose. I advise that you take a different professor.

Professor Olson is an amazing professor. I love her class and those who dislike it are those who don't take notes or skip class. There's reading assignments throughout the week, but they aren't long. Super fun and easy class. She is very caring for her students and she's funny. Doing the reading assignments is the key to succeeding w/your essays!!!

Worst teacher I have ever taken my whole college career. She would hold only 10 minutes classes sometimes, never responded to any emails, assigns papers but gives you NO feedback whatsoever but bases your grade off these papers, she never taught only ranted and raved about something different every class. All in all avoid taking her.
