Comment:
Philosophy isn't for everyone, it takes crazy patience and extensive breaking down; however Professor Nash compiles lecture notes for each assigned reading that makes it so much easier to understand. Throughout the course, she also makes it her job to check up on how people are transitioning to college and how challenging an assignment was.

she is a really nice teacher and would help you if you need help. Take this class if you are Really interested in philosophy other wise don't take it. the course itself is hard in materiel and you will not get a good grade unless you follow these steps i give you: 1)Read the book 2)DO THE HOME WORK 3)Try not to miss many classes

This class was insanely hard. Although she is a very nice person and loves what she does, this is very difficult class. The material is very hard to understand and the class time is mainly used for going over the reading and not enough of the notes. The assignments are very unclear and if you ask for help she isn't very helpful.

This has got to be the hardest class I have yet to take! She's a nice lady don't get me wrong, but if she doesn't like your opinion she will tell you its unclear. Not only this but don't take notes print them off it will save you time and they are easier to study. You won't pass unless you study and read. If you want an easy A don't take this class

To be honest, I feel like students who aren't philosophy majors are practically doomed to have a C in her class. I currently have a B-, and it is the hardest grade to keep! She makes us write reflections practically every other class, so there's no way out of the assigned readings. Overall, I'm not a big fan of this class for gen ed.

Nice woman who loves what she does/teaches. Be prepared to work if you take this class. Reading due for every class (no way around it) and reflection quizzes on passages in the book every class. 2 tests and final, no midterm, which are all in the form of essay questions. Also a research essay is due in 3 parts through-out the semester.

I think she's good. Pretty clear with her teaching method. I took Problems in Philosophy with her, and I enjoyed it. There's a reflection after every reading, so I keep up on the readings and barely have to study for the tests. I'd recommend her if you're in for a nice, simple, straight forward class. I'm taking her again next semester.

She's very mean in a nice way. Reflections every class which is pretty much a quiz every single class day. The material is very hard. Not a fun class

Class and Professor were just "ok". Professor Nash is a nice lady but definitely on the more liberal side but its a Women's Study class. LOTS of notes! Class is pretty straight forward...no tricks.

TONS Of notes. Her tests are given to you prior to the exam which is helpful but the discussions we have in class are MUCH different from the test questions. SO many theories it's hard to keep information straight. She doesn't review. An okay class if you can memorize theory after theory after theory...

I have her for womens study. She's not necessarily a bad teacher, but sometimes she misses the point of your argument when you speak up in class and HOLY CRAP be prepared to write tons of notes. Tons. Probably about 4 pages a day or so. And her tests are all essays 2-3 paragraphs each.

Two words:Teach yourself. This woman is extremely nice and very helpful and personable. She's also Canadian and we all know Canadians rock. One problem though, her notes are like a NASCAR event. So don't bother taking notes, just pay attention and take your own notes out of the couldn't-be-simpler book. I would definitely recommend this course with her.

Nice person but a bad teacher. She gives you years worth of notes every class to the point where nothing sinks in because you're too busy taking notes.

Use to love phil, now i am so bored with it. She really does an awful job explaining things, monotonous and she really nods too much. She is nice but thats not what im looking for in a professor. I don't recommend her.

Be prepared to take notes upon notes upon notes!!She is very nice and she wants you to understand the material, but she doesn't explain it well enough to the "non philisophy" majors. If you are not a phil. major I would not recommend this course. If you are, you will probably do well.

Firstly, the pnly person you can blame for failing a class is yourself. If you do the reading, the homework, and pay attention you will do well in her class. She goes out of her way to help when material is difficult to understand. Great professor!

Text can be hard to read at times, and tests are hard if you don't study. Class is fun if you like debates, mainly discussion about topics like abortion and god, etc. She is nice, and tries to get to know everyone in the class
