A recognized authority in the subject. Is brilliant, and clear. What more can you ask for? Reading haters' comments on this page makes me embarrassed to be their colleague. "Visit her to make her feel special," one reads. Wake up- she does not want or need your friendship. You will have to work hard out of class, but that's what we signed up for?

Definitely one of the worst professors I've ever had. I did not miss a single class but feel free because you will not miss a thing! Several people in the class made a point to visit her during office hours and they all received better grades. Get good aids/outlines from the other section and visit her so she feels special and you'll be fine.

Because she only gave one assignment before the final, and doesn't call on people, a lot of students didn't read or pay attention in class. She is a tough grader, but everything on the final is thoroughly covered in the assigned reading, and then again in class.

Learn-it-yourself course. Class consists of Finley rambling for two and a half hours. Doesn't take attendance. One paper 1/3 of grade, minimal instructions, so your grade on it is a crapshoot. If you are one in one of the first groups to submit, you're screwed. 2/3 of grade is a take home final.

Only had one assignment, which was very unspecific and unclear. When we received the papers back they were harshly graded and points were taken off for organization. These points could have easily have been gained had she been more clear. Lectures the entire 2.25 hours with no break. Sooo boring! Could have received an A in the course if you read.

Literally the worst professor you can imagine. There is no point in attending class because the majority of the time is spent discussing unrelated current events or pointless hypotheticals that have nothing to do with the reading. Basically just plan on teaching yourself everything.

Something must have changed in the years since these last reviews, but she was a great teacher for this class. Knowledgeable, interesting, timely grader. None of the problems previously mentioned were there this time around. 2 memos and a final, fair grading. Great teacher. Refreshing to have more than one grade that determines your grade for class

She's easily the worst teacher at Buffalo, which is saying something considering how awful the general quality is there. Arrogant, condescending, and a poor instructor. Your knowledge base will suffer tremendously, as will your overall feeling towards the legal profession. Stay away, and be much happier.

"pretty much sums up why the public hates tort attorneys" HAHA. My advice: Get an outline from an upperclassmen for this class and study on your own. Pray that you are one of the first groups to present, so that she will return your paper. Otherwise, ask an upperclassmen or someone in your class if you can read her comments on their paper.

I took Torts with her in the Fall 2004. It is April 12, 2005 and she STILL hasn't posted grades. She required that we write memorandums of law within weeks of starting law school, she then failed to provide constructive criticism, instead making rude comments. Some papers were NEVER returned. Beware

Comment:
She is Awful. Every time a law professor references a topic in torts we were expected to know the class chuckles. She spent half of one class on intentional torts. She is mean, vindictive, and generally unpleasant. Papers are rudely graded and absurdly late. She curses and uses the N word flippantly
