Comment:

I took Dr. Dunn for a lower history course and had no problems. Received an A for the class, and barely came to class the last few weeks. Pay attention to lectures and read the book and you will be fine. She gives an easy 50 extra credit points and doesn't make you memorize dates. Can seem rude at times, but knows her stuff.

Comment:

She lectures the whole class period, but as long as you can follow her and write down what she's saying it really is not as bad as everyone says. Her tests are half textbook half lecture. She gives you an opportunity to get a total of 50 extra credit points. Half of the final is STRAIGHT from past tests. I recommend her as a professor :)

This class was the hardest college course i have had and i am a junior. Only 2 tests the whole semester and the final. No quizzes, no powerpoints,no studyguides, no keyterms. She only lectures, if you are not an auditory learner you will have a tough time.she was a nice lady. this course did show me how to really think critically.

Comment:

Dr. Dunn told you exactly what you need to know on the exams. She has even sent out the essay questions prior to the test. On her test, you aren't required to memorize any dates, just the facts. She also gives easy homework that the answer is in the back of the book so it's an easy way to get extra points. I found her class super easy & I got an A.

Dr. Dunn is extremely knowledgeable in her field, which shows in her lectures and general conversation. Yes, she is tough- but she's always fair. College is not about a professor entertaining you, holding your hand, or ensuring your feelings aren't hurt. It's about education. If you want to actually learn something, take one of Dr. Dunn's classes.

Comment:

Tough but fair professor. She has an interesting personality but loves and knows the subject she teaches. Often she gets off on stories but it gives you a quick break from facts between lessons. You will need your book. Her tests are half book and half lecture but the questions are all very general, no dates and names. Would take again if I could.

Not exactly the easiest or most interesting teacher, tends to drift off into different subjects not relating to the ones we are talking about. But she is a good history teacher and does have a great knowledge about the 50s. But don't get here started on feminism in the 50s or you'll be there all day.

If I didn't need a 500 level class this semester, I'd be dropping her class ASAP. She is condescending and belittling, and she is neither fair nor *forthright* about her expectations for her students' work. If you can in ANY WAY avoid taking her class, do so. She is not to be trusted.

Spare yourself a waste of a class. she is boring, she never stays on subject, she is very rude and tries to make you feel belittled. her tests are really confusing, you may know the material but the tests confuse you too much. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR!

Dr. Dunn is tough, but fair. I recently had her for diplomacy and as long as you take notes and go to class regularly, you'll be fine. She does take most of her info for her exams DIRECTLY from the book. Don't ask questions, she'll make you feel like an idiot.

She's kinda spacey/distracting. Doesn't always explain things clearly. Reading is required if you want to pass. Makes you feel dumb when you ask questions. Seems to be fairly nice though.

All people who say Dr. Dunn is a bad teacher are crazy. As long as you read your book and take notes in class the tests will be a piece of cake...I got an A...people just dont want to read but her tests are as strait foward as they come!

Don't take anything with Dunn! Her lectures will put you to sleep. However, you're too distracted to even listen because she sits on the edge of the front desk and swings her legs back and forth. The woman can't sit still! Tests aren't bad if you've done the readings and taken good notes.

Despite reading the comments on the site, I took the class. While the ;ecturing is somewhat boring, the class itself isn't that difficult. As longas you attend class, take notes, and do the work assigned, you'll be alright.

Do not take Mrs Dunn if you can help it! I went to her for help and she pretty much told me I was stupid. She doesn't make sense when she talks half of the time and she says "um" after everything she says! STAY AWAY!
