great artist, so-so teacher he is really fast paced and doesn't really speak at all until spoken too which makes failing his class very easy

Very difficult to understand. Jumps around a lot in his lessons, nothing really planned out, no clear assignment dates given. Plays a lot of videos and will keep you there the whole time. Take lots of notes, he does allow open note quizzes. Requires a lot of materials for the class. Be prepared to go to Art Gallery as well.

he does give a lot of assignments, but it's online & can be taken until you reach 100. His tests/quizzes are all open note, so just make sure you take notes. He lets you redo assignments (after he graded it and told you exactly what was wrong) to get an A. got an easy A. his class takes more physical work than mental work. accepts late work as well

He is not a bad person (Talking about personality), but his class is way TOO difficult for the subject. He makes it seems as if its an important subject (It's NOT if it's not your major and you're trying to fulfill an elective). HE made me use time that I could use for my important subjects because I was stuck doing online homework. Glad it's OVER.

This professor made me hate Art. Every one said its a fun class to take for general credits, I ended up neglecting my other classes and do nothing but study and work for this one.

You will need to pay attention 100% at all times, otherwise, you will miss important information. Class was a bit confusing and difficult. Maman doesn't offer much help either, so you will need to work hard. Ask questions as much as possible, because you will NEED help. I'm glad i got this class over with..

Horrible professor. Cannot comprehend what he says because he doesn't know how to communicate. Art is an opinion and he doesn't believe that if you don't say the exact thing he say about and art piece your wrong. Gives way to much work all at once. Also he's doesn't believe in blackboard so he makes you go to his own person website for class info.

Alright his class is something that you have to research which is something I highly advise. He is very vague and when you ask him for help he cannot really explain things clearly. If you have no background in painting or just not good with crafts he will grade you harshly. The lesson plan is rather out of order as well thus find a better teacher.

I recommend this class only if you are able to adapt to different kinds of work. It's challenging on an academic and an artistic level. Maman knows what he's doing and the work gets easier as you get the hang of it. He cares about his students, and is extremely approachable.

Be prepared to work! He is a stickler for producing work but I found I learned more by doing more. He was very helpful and would answer any question asked of him. His class was laid back and enjoyable. He obviously knows his stuff and if you give him a chance he will teach you much. Overall I liked his class and him. He is very personable.

Don't be fooled by his easy going manner; he does not suffer fools. Expects attendance at every class, and assignments to be done. Follow the syllabus, do the reading, and LISTEN. You can miss a lot by talking, texting, otherwise not paying attention while he is talking. Color theory itself is difficult to understand; don't expect an easy course.

You will be confused by just about everything the guy says. He's not entirely able to express almost anything he explains. Also as a tip get some digits from some class mates. Cause you'll need to brainstorm what he wants from the assignment sometimes. Not even kidding. Prepare for a lotta work, and lots of screw ups with this guy.

Maman Rikin is an inspiration as an artist himself. Expect to spend many hours outside of class to create quality pieces.Maman is helpful if approached. He does not care for dramatics. Overall he is more of a guide rather than a teacher so if you have initiative and interest you'll do well. He has a great sense of humor!

Be prepared to make more work than you ever expected. This class is intense. I loved it. Don't miss a day and expect to come in at least once a week extra for 3+ hours just to finish the work load. Each week a 1pg summary of a ceramic artist is due. You cover all aspects of ceramics in this class, handbuilding, wheel, glaze, ...

Never finishes his sentences, so you dont understand what he says. Sometimes, it seems like he doesnt know the answer to his own questions, which causes him to grade our hw and then return it cuz its "bad". If you did something wrong, he put its out there foe the whole class to know. WHY DOES IT MATTER AND WHY WOULD HE EMBARRASS STUDENTS LIKE THAT?
