Comment:

Manny was a tough teacher. This is a mandatory course for education students and many ended up dropping out when I took it. There were 35 in the class and 17 wrote the final. Elementary math should not be that hard. If you are proficient in math and ready to work you will do fine, but showing up to class is a must.

Comment:

I enjoyed my time with Manny. He tries incredibly hard to make sure all his students are successful in the class. If you don't put forth the effort to do homework and assignments outside of class, you won't get a good mark. His tests are straight forward- takes examples right from the lecture notes. Easy to talk to and approach. Videos are helpful.

Manny is awesome and had s great sense of humor. If you go to class, watch his videos and do the assignments (there aren't many and they aren't hard) you will pass. He works very hard to get his students the best grade possible.

he is a good guy and really knows his subject but his way of teaching is not very clear. when a question is asked he will not always answer it, he will just move on. he expects you to know everything and will not go over material prior to the course. it is very hard to understand material that many teaches.

Manny is definitely a nice guy who knows his subject. The only thing is that he only knows it HIS select way. The course I had taken was essentially Math 30-2 with Elementary mathematics sprinkled in. This sounds very easy and IS easy to do. Manny expects you to recite his lectures word for word so don't even try to do course work on your own.

Comment:

Lectures lack structure and are very unclear. Gets off topic easily. He is very kind and means well but doesn't know how to teach in a way which students can follow. Would avoid taking a stats class from any teacher at RDC if at all possible.

Unfortunately he lacks clarity in explanations and he does not use class time to teach the material. If you approach him about topics you do not understand, he directs you to watch his videos. The textbook used in the course is written and published by him, and contains many grammatical errors that make understanding the material even more difficul

Comment:

I found Manny to be one of my favourite professors at the College. His classes were always entertaining and he would go the extra mile if you needed help. Make yourself known to him and be kind and you will do great. Manny's sense of humor made me want to attend his classes as I knew something funny would happen.

Manny is a math genius with outdated teaching methods. If you show up, pay attention and make an effort to be nice and have a relationship with him you can be successful. His lectures are confusing so be sure to study on your own. Ask questions when completing tests and assignments as his marking criteria doesn't always make sense.

General response to "my professor is Manny" is "good luck". He makes a subject that could be fairly easy to understand difficult. Getting help from him is very difficult and if you have any confusions or concerns he makes you feel like you're just not smart.

He was very spastic in his analogies, and didn't conclude on some of his topics in a lecture ( probably due to his lack of a course outline in the first place). If you had a question it must be asked during his rare office hours, and when you were able to meet with him, he would simply say, "Re-read it in the text.".

Manny is a good teacher. He loves math and cares about his students. His teaching style can be non-linear, which is difficult for some students to follow. I actually enjoyed the stories that he discussed as part of finding a solution. He is also willing to talk to you outside of class and assist you with any math problem. Don't skip and do the work

A handful of my classmates were rude to Manny in front of the class, which clearly upset him and made his lectures poor. If you put the work in you can pass the class. He was there to help me when I asked as I actually wanted to. But when you treat him poorly he takes it out on the class. Plain and simple put the work in, ask for help when needed.

AVOID THIS TEACHER! He is a horrible teacher. The only way to pass is to teach your self the material. He is a nice guy, and very smart, but those things do not qualify someone to teach. He expects you to watch all of his long & confusing videos. He uses class time to go over the mistakes in his hand written $40 textbook, instead of teaching.

Unfortunately when he starts his classes he didn't say what he is going to do that day he just jumped right into a problem. It made it confusing to follow. By the end of class you have no idea what you learned. If you ask for help he makes you feel like a fool.

Comment:

Manny isn't the best teacher, but a lot of it reflects how the class treats him. Be nice to him, and he'll go out of his way to help you. If you put in the effort on questions you got wrong and take them to him he may give you partial marks.

Very nice professor. However: Got a question? You will feel stupid in front of the class when he explains it to YOU. Clarity? Meh. You will have to teach yourself in order to pass.

Comment:

The class would be easy if he explained what he was doing. He makes things very confusing. Even 1 on 1 time he does NOT help. He will tell you he cant help you unless you have tried it even if you have. And tell you to watch the videos (even if you have). He expects you to know everything just based on his videos which are also confusing sometimes.
