Comment:

She's a kind lady who has lost her edge and spends the better half of 50 minutes going over redundant information. The course is slowed down so that everyone can understand basic concepts, that should be prerequisites for German majors. It's an utter waste of time and a shame that the time can't be better spent on more challenging material.

Comment:

She is very forgetful, rarely emails when she says she will, and grades according to whether she likes you or not, not on how well you actually did. Probably easy for lower levels, awful vocabulary I wouldn't recommend her for upper levels. Every time she spoke I became more confused even if i already understood the concept.

Nice lady,completely airy though. Doesn't follow syllabus, takes forever on emails, very forgetful. Pretty easy grader. Class was kinda boring, she would get off topic and the minutes went by very slowly. Alot of (easy) work for gen-ed though.

Comment:

For a student who wants to get by with an easy A, she's the teacher to take. She will help you in any way, shape or form, and as long as you take the initiative she'll do all she can to make sure you pass. On the other hand, if you are trying to be come as fluent as possible, she's not the professor to take..her german is very limited.

Extremly helpful and actually cares about the students. I had taken 4 years of German in high school, but they were a complete joke so it was like starting over again. She helped me personally with the material and graded very easily once she learned i wouldnt be taking german after this course. got an A even though i failed most of the tests!

Unfortunately her tenure teaching our class got cut short by her Kidney Transplant, but I love this woman. While she might get boring at times, she is by far the sweetest person in the world and unlike many profs she actually cares about her students and their lives! GET BETTER SOON FRAU we are counting on seeing you in the fall!

This class is German Comp and Conversation, and it is in general a difficult class. However, Frau Devinney makes it managable. She is leniant with due dates, as long as you do the work, you get full credit. She also allows re-writes of the weekly papers so you can get the best grade possable. Also good for lower level classes!

Excellent professor! Show up to every class, do the homework, study a little before each test and you should get an A. Very friendly and available for extra help outside of class. Most important thing: go to every class...you can't learn German without attending most classes.
