Comment:

Professor Marshall was amazing. She is easygoing and is always there to help! Didn't teach anything technical and was more about breaking out of your shell. Doesn't give letter grades, just marks as complete or incomplete. Gives an attendance grade so try to show up as much as possible. Turned in many assignments late and still got full credit.

Comment:

Maria is the best professor to have for any graphic design class. She really likes to not change your work, but instead help you elevate it. Out of all the professors Ive had for graphic design, she gives the absolute best advice and tips.

Ive taken classes with Maria so often. When I started out in MAD classes, i wasnt fond of her because theres always something she had to critique with my work which bummed me but after taking so many courses, I get it. Im learning to slowly train myself to be a better designer with good work ethic thanks to her. She will always be there to help

TAKE HER!!! DO IT!!! she is one o the best teachers in the MAD Program here. I have learned so mch from her and she is a treasure to have. her grading is as easy as it gets. as long as you do your work, show up to class and show improvement, there is no reason that you should not get an A. Take her and you can thank me later.

People either love her or hate her. She gives good feedback but sometimes overdoes it with her nitpicking. Especially in her 5 hour classes. You may need to fight her now and then on why your design is good. But she doesn't hold back either. Don't forget, her intention is to make you a better designer and train your eye to see mistakes like her.

My recommendation is: take her for a subject you really want to know more about it bc that's when she becomes most useful. She constantly relies on tutorials/online articles for help, yeah she'll help you with your work but usually it's on you. She can be a little harsh (she made one guy furious). She can seem to be lost sometimes. She's okay.

I love Maria's classes. Like others said, she doesn't grade so there's no pressure to try new things on each project. As long as you try, that's all she cares about. But she can be tough on you, her feedback is very honest and she constantly pushes you to do better. Very caring and passionate about design. Make sure you do the Wordpress though.

She's a great professor. I would say the best thing about her, is how supportive she is. she's willing to really sit down and work with you on your project. Most of the projects are fun too, so thats a plus. Just do your best and you'll do good in her class.

Although our classes were always 5 hours long I enjoyed going every week. Her grading style is very unique in that although we had a project due almost every week none of them were graded. Instead every student was given honest feedback which allowed me to develop my work without feeling pressured. I can't wait to have her again next semester.

Love taking classes taught by Maria Marshall. Shes always there to help with a problem and gives you so much creative freedom with projects. Does not want to limit your creativity. Very open to new ideas. Put all your effort in and she will not fail you. Only got a C because the class was split into digital n analog and I'm bad at the program Maya.

Had her for 4 classes so far. I like how she doesn't give grades until the end, so less pressure on projects. Your grade depends on your effort basically. Lots of honest feedback. Her skill with software varies, she gets stumped a lot. Traditional media is her specialty. Beware her supplies list, often you don't use much of what you end up buying.

Best media arts professor I've had at Middlesex County College. Always notices when I'm struggling and helps out. Gives amazing feedback and criticism to help further your art abilities. I will try to keep taking her classes for other media classes.

Rude with lack of proper knowledge to teach this class. Relies on tutorials constantly. Does not actually "teach." You are on your own. She in inconsistent, sometimes caring about grades and deadlines, then not; leaving the students frustrated and confused. DON'T TAKE HER! There are plenty of others. You never know where you stand.

I loved meeting once a week for 5 straight hours so we got everything done in one class and the rest of the week to focus on the next assignment. Prof. Marshall graded differently then I ever imagined; she never gave actual grades out on projects until your final presentation at the end of the semester. I loved every class

Maria is strict but wonderful. I was in the aforementioned business card class, but what the previous posters failed to mention was that we ignored all the little details that we would need to recognize in the field, so she had us keep redoing them.
