Murillo seems to be one of the few people you can count on at Hofstra. He will drop everything to help you and treats you as an industry professional not merely a student. He urges you to create something you're proud of and will work with you to get there, regardless of due dates. If you have the chance to work with him, take it. He is a real gem

I had professor Murillo for a 3 hour class once a week and from the class you can tell he is super passionate about the material. Unfortunately, I took this class in place of another that I needed so I was not as into the class as I would be with other media classes. He is a down to earth guy and seems very understanding as well.

I took Prof. Murillo's class as a distribution and it was easily my favorite class of the semester. You can tell Murillo really cares about what he's teaching and tries to make it enjoyable for everyone. There was quite a bit of writing but we had all semester to do it. He also gave a ton of fun and interesting extra credit opportunities.

Great, informative class. Not a lot of work but readings were incredibly boring/dry. The stuff we did in class was great, the work outside of class was pretty terrible. On essays, as long as you know what you're talking about and a decent writer you'll be fine. Quizzes are pretty in depth.

My favorite professor of the semester. He made class fun, related to the students, and was such a nice guy. He's a radio guy, but he incorporates all aspects of media to the class. Assignments aren't hard, I did them all in about two hours each and got As. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Mario is good stuff. He doesn't give much work so when he does it feels like a lot, but just jump on it when you can and you're fine. Funny man. Also, as he's the head of the deprt he is a good friend/person who likes you to have. TAKE IF YOU CAN!

I personally can't stand the man. He is all over the place, extremely boring, and is only interested in production geared towards NPR. Learned very little in the 3 classes I've had with him, and at this point, I feel I'd be a better teacher than him. He IS enjoyable at times, but if you can stay away from him..I would.

I don't understand how a guy can teach a production class when he has no clue how to use the software. Also we are there to learn how to make creative audio projects and not just make boring features that could only be aired on NPR. Avoid him if you can and teach yourself because you will be much better off.

Mr. Murrillo is great. I have had him for other classes and he tries to keep class interesting and doesnt make it too hard. He is great because he listens to the class and hates grading work just as much as we hate doing it. Overall you learn a lot

Are you kidding me? Maybe it's the SCO 4 class cause those are easy anytime, but his AVF classes aren't easy. The reading is pointless; I never did it and still did great on the exam. He is by far one of the WORST professors on this campus.

how am i the first to comment on this guy? this guy is awesome in and outside of class, very down to earth...coursework is not difficult, and is fun, i took him for SCO 4 too, definitely one my favorite teachers at hofstra
