DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER! She reads directly from the book, seems to have little understanding of the material outside of the textbook. Presents worthless powerpoints and reads directly from them with no elaboration. Tests are very difficult with little guidance to what you need to know for the test. Questions seem to come out of no where!

SKIP HER and take this class online. She reads from the book. Took this class in the summer and she would read for 3 straight hours. It was painful. Tests straight from the end of chapter activities, you don't even have to show up for that.

Reads (monotone and inaccurately) straight from the book and any asides she may give are completely useless. Has numerous, glaring typos on tests and utilizes questions outside the stated parameters. Doesn't know how organize a syllabus. Cannot pronounce ANYTHING correctly, and it's even written phonetically in the book she's READING from! Skip her

Ok so I had her for MED TERM. She is super nice as a person but she should not be teaching. She read straight from the book and was all around dull. If you see her as a teacher, I suggest you opt to take the class with someone else!

So far what I have read here about her is dead on correct. I took her for Medical Terminology. I have never seen such a lazy professor in all of my college career. She read straight from the book, word for word, very monotone, not even a little bit of livliness in her lectures. Tests had hardly any actual medical terminology. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

Even though she is a nice person at heart she is not helpful at all. Like others have said her test are a guessing game and she is always right. In class her lecture involves a power point and that is it. For lab we had no demonstrations on any skills all we did was watch movies. In clinicals she was not engaged at all just watched us no teaching.

medical Terminology, I could not wait ,until I got her, she is the laziest person I have ever met, reads directly from book verbatum her teaching methods are very poor-Horrible. she almost made me drop the class, but I thought it would get better, she puts things on her test that were never gone over & not in book.

LAZY!!! She just sits and reads the powerpoint guide from the book. She will not elaborate the topics. It's like you are taking an online class. You are on your own to learn by reading the book. You dont learn anything from the lecture because she is like a parrot. Lear is just there to give the out her exams and its up to you to read and learn.

I have never been exposed to such poor teaching. Monotonous reading from the book and questions which were not even relevant. 50 people in class, No A's, 9 failed. In concurrent classes the curve for the same people was pretty standard. Questions were arguable and many times she would agree and then just say "That wasn't what I was after."

Pay attention to what she is saying.I wish power point were available for her class. I spent a lot of time writing. I would rather have listened and added to online notes. should have been harder on some of my talkative classmates, cell phones ringing their mouths making it difficult for me to hear. Unhelpful, unpredictable, unreliable, unable to help student view reason why test questions are wrong or right; although all the answer choices are correct. Ms. Lear's test are very hard, but she says it is because she is getting us ready for next semester! She was very nice and would answer any question that you had. In clinicals she was not as involved as she could have been, but honestly clincals were not that busy.

Her tests are challenging and usually leave you with two possible answers. A lot of classroom time was wasted discussing non-nursing material. In lab she NEVER demonstrated any critical nursing skills (i.e. taking blood pressure, medication administration)- you were sort of on your own. She is very UNPROFESSIONAL and into gossiping.

Ms. Lear is so nice! You can go to her at anytime and she is more than willing to help you. Her test are very challenging, but nursing school is supposed to be. I am also taking her for clinicals and she is great!
