Comment:

You need GOOD time management to take this course. I spent an average of 6-9 hours a week on assignments. She is a tough grader but at this level you should know how to summarize and write a paragraph. Exams were easy if you study. Humanities is my least favorite subject but I got an A by doing the work, studying and staying on top of the course.

Comment:

At the start of the semester she seems like a really tough teacher. But once you get into the groove of class, she really isn't bad at all. There are a lot, i mean A LOT of homework assignments throughout the class, but everything was meaningful and mattered to the core learning of this class. She grades tough, but shes clear with her requirements.

Comment:

Was intimidated by the comments about this professor but she wasn't bad at all. There are study guides that are due about every other week and the work load for those could take a long time to do, but you don't have any other homework for the class so just work ahead. Was understanding, was strict on due dates, but had extra credit options.

Awful would never take again studys guide does not prepare you for exams, very heavy on the homework and reading. I would never take her class again

This professor I have taken twice now. This will not be an easy A but is passable. If you do your homework and really try you will do good. She is a very heavy grader that will nit pick your assignments. Overall the feedback is nice and if you do good work she will give you a good grade. Essays are usually 250 max. With discussions at 150 word max

She drops the three lowest quizzes, discussions and writing assignments. You have a lot of assignments to do but you can miss up to three of each of them. If you follow the grading criteria you will do great and if you mess up and take her advice you will do better. She responds to emails in a timely manner and overall I thought she was good.

Seems like doing homework for most people is never heard of. If you do your part on the work she gives you, you pass with an A. She gives great feedback, so it doesn't make you feel like you're doing the work for nothing.

She is a really good professor. She makes everything clear and as long as you participate you'll pass the class. Be on time!!! She is quick to mark you absent on the dot.

If you try your best and do your homework you can succeed in this class and get an A. It is no walk in the park though. Homework takes time but prepares you for the tests. She is a great professor but will roast you if you don't put the work in. Great lectures.

I really liked her because her assignments were graded clearly, but she is quite strict with the criteria. She does give good feedback, but make sure you read the book!

The worst professor I ever had. Is her way or the highway. She does not explain anything and expect that you are genius. I do not recommend this professor, please stay away.

Comment:

Taking her class was a requirement in order to graduate on time. I read these reviews, got really nervous & it triggered anxiety for me. While she does assign a bit of work (2 -3 hrs/week due Sun) its always the same weekly schedule and routinely the same assignments w similar formats making it easy. I have a 95 now and it is extremely interesting!

Like someone said previously, she grades harsher than an English 2 professor with the amount of work like you're in biology. You have numerous writing assignments, quizzes, discussions and exams. I don't know what I expected even after reading the reviews. I'm hanging in there to the best of my ability.

This class is ALOT of writing , but I feel she makes it easy to pass. I took her for intro to humanities (online). Yes, she grades harsh, but she dropped the lowest 3 grades of the writing assignments, quizzes and disscussions. If she didn't do that, I'm pretty sure I would of gotten a D, BUT i passed with a B. I learned a lot though.

Does not interact with online students very often. Whenever I had a question about an assignment and tried to explain my issue, she still didn't help. Had to hire a 3rd party tutor to save my grade!

Prepare to have no life for the next several months. I am not sure why but she assigns a ridiculous amount of work! I feel that 4 assignments weekly is PLENTY for one class however, Ms. Irizarry must not feel the same. Most weeks have over 70 pages of reading plus 7 assignments!! ABSURD!!! She is also very tough, read directions carefully or FAIL!

Ridiculous in her grading. Discussions are graded but if your opinion is different than hers, it's wrong and losses points. Very negative in her comments, NEVER what you did right, only what she thinks is bad about your work.

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. She's a horrible teacher and her grading is very tough. Way too much writing, and assignments are tough. It's very hard to pass the class.

Honestly, this teacher was so so. Get ready to write A LOT. I wouldnt take her again. Like others said if your point of view isnt similar to hers she wont pass you.
