Mark is probably the best writing teacher I have had. He gives really great feedback too. There are only 3 major papers and he holds conferences for them so you can get feedback as well as makes peer review groups. He is very chill and an easy grader. He has 2 small books that are required for class.

Mark is the kindest, most caring teacher Ive had in awhile. He cares a lot about his students and you can tell. I never received less than a 90 on a paper. If you put it in a little bit of work and are naturally ok at writing, you will get an A. If you are conservative I wouldnt recommend it him because you learn lots about liberal social issues

I enjoyed this class. Mark gets a little off topic at times, but it's okay. If you put in effort, you will be rewarded for it. The environment in the class is positive and fun. All in all, a super chill class!

He is very dry. The thing I don't like about him the most is his stubbornness in beliefs. I don't mean political or anything like that. He just doesn't often change his mind about things. If you take this class prepared to shape your papers the way he wants for a good grade. He is a better teacher than some, but there are much better teachers.

Mark gives great feedback on your papers and allows you to revise them after you have turned them in for 15 more points. He makes awkward jokes that make everyone uncomfortable but at least he tries. Ask him about his olden days working at the record shop. You get a lot of time to do nothing in this class. Class 5/10. Clip Art 10/10.

I loved Mark! He is so chill and super funny. The class itself is enjoyable. There's a lot of group activities. There is no final exam, but instead a group project, which is easy. There are a fair share of papers and essay's. I would say the class is somewhat challenging, but if you apply yourself you will be just fine! :)

Professor Anderson is a good teacher. Went and got feedback on most of my papers. He was very helpful and drove my papers in the right direction. He cares about his students a lot and is always willing to answer questions. This class is not easy, but if you put in the work you will succeed, learn a lot and grow your writing. Would recommend.

Professor Anderson has awkward jokes sometimes but means well. Grades sort of harshly but not too bad, if you try I would say usually a B+ or A- on papers. He gives really good feedback during office hours and conferences.

Mark is like your slightly awkward uncle. He truly cares about his students and he learned the names of everyone in the class (he was one of the only professors to know my name). He gives good, helpful feedback but doesn't put grades on Moodle until the end of the semester. Overall easy class but you still have to work hard to earn an "A".

Everything about Mark Anderson being kind of like a really awkward uncle is totally true. As for his class, he is a tough grader, but his feedback is good and he lets you revise the first three major papers for up to 15 points back, which is very helpful. You won't need the voices book but you will need the course packet.

Professor Mark Anderson really cares about his students. He wants his student to pass with good grades. The amount of homework and paper are reasonable. I really recommend first-year students (including international students) to take his class.

I had Mark Anderson for my Freshman writing class, he was amazing! He's a bit awkward, but in a dad or uncle sort-of-way. He truly gave me great feedback on my papers, which we only had four of! This class was very easy, and Mark made it extremely fun. The reading and short writings focus on literacy and writing, so be prepared! I highly reccomend!

I absolutely despised the class because I am not a fan of writing at all. But Anderson made the class more enjoyable to me because he just an all around nice guy. He has a quirky sense of humor and if you talk to him about his old days of working at record shops he can go on for the entire class talking about it. Highly recommended for WRIT1301

Anderson is great! He isn't clear on what he wants from papers, which can really make it hard to get going, but his feedback was helpful (at least for me it was) & he has a quirky sense of humor & is really a nice guy! Being in class is quite boring but you get an attendance grade so go. DO NOT buy the Pocket Style manual though, you don't need it!

Professor Anderson grades pretty tough but it's nice you can get points back for revising essays. i didn't care about revising any of them but I wish I took advantage of it when I had the chance. Pretty easy class overall but be prepared to fall asleep as it's a very boring class.

This class is extremely dry and boring. Be aware of the course packet, most of the readings are pointless, but some are good. In terms of grading, he grades the first paper hard, but then loosens up a lot as semester goes on. Rewrite all your papers, you can get 15 points back,it helps your grade a lot. He's pretty easy to talk to, but be nice.

Mark is a great guy! You can tell he really cares about his students and wants everybody to do good. If you need help on anything he's there. Although, his feedback isn't the best when it comes to revising papers and he doesn't really have a clear thought on what you should do in the paper.

Mark is a nice guy but reminds me of an awkward dad. His jokes aren't funny and he takes 5 mins to spit out a 1 min story. His gives lots of specific feedback on papers which are sometimes helpful. He offers rewrites on papers which allows you to gain up to 15 points back on your final score. Overall pretty easymanageable class. Not very exciting.

Mark is really helpful when you meet for individual conferences and is understanding about not completing assignments on time. However, his class is exceptionally boring and the course packet readings are mundane.
