Comment:
Gives terrible feedback in which he is not clear at times. Also, he has no understanding of what entry level positions make today. For my capstone I wrote about the need for a government agency to hire administrative assistants. I based the pay off of research and personal experience and set the pay at $17/hr. He "suggested" they make $30/hr.

Comment:
Professor Cassell, despite having taken great lengths to appear open minded, is the most insular professor I have had the misfortune of being taught by. He has no grading style, likely due to passing on the brunt of the work to a teaching assistant. Professor Cassell should likely acquire some real world experience before he attempts to instruct.

Comment:
Completely politically biased. Always picks on conservatives in the class to tell them why their ideas are wrong. Gives false information, the things he says contradict things that my Macro professor taught us. One of the worst professors I have ever taken. Dropping my major for a minor because of this class.

Class time is mostly a small discussion with powerpoint notes. Dr. Cassell makes the information easy to understand, and always stops and encourages questions. Exams are pretty easy if you pay attention in class and take notes. 10/10 would recommend.

I don't know why so many people dislike Cassell. I took him for Urban Politics and quite frankly the class has been extremely enjoyable. The tests were challenging but fair. His only real assignment was a 3-4 page paper about an organization which actually was challenging. He gives assignments for the reading. Great professor. Would take again

Extremely politically biased. Somewhat rude, and ultimately desires to hear himself talk. The tests are challenging but good, and reading is a must. Offers a descant amount of extra credit. Again, his political views are very apparent in his lecturing. I feel like this can be a real downfall of a poly sci professor.

One of the worst classes i have ever taken in college. He is the absolute worst teacher. Even if you take your papers to the writing center you will not get a good grade. If you can avoid it DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is not helpful at all and he is very rude in class.I never missed one class and am not expecting a good grade because he doesn't give them.

I had him for two classes this semester. His lectures can be a bit detailed however he showed a lot of passion about the subjects. He seemed to have a vested interest in our success. He is a must have instructor for any political science major! Highly Recommended! If anyone falls short of a superior grade in his class its because of your own doing!

this guy is a complete wiener. never in my college career have a seen a professor be so petty over writing style on papers. if you write better than him be prepared to have major points taken off. some how i got points taken off an opinion essay in a test too. also be prepared to learn nothing about city governments. avoid at all costs

Comment:
He definately knows a lot about cities, and the class is interesting. However, he is way too liberal and it comes across in his lectures. Everything is DRAMATIC! For a 30000 level class, an interview and a 20-page research paper is too much. Plus, it's worth 30%. Readings are not mandatory, but are helpful. Also, he's cracking down on attendance.

The Professor is obviously passionate about what he teaches, but he focuses too much on the minor details. By the time a student takes his class, students should already have intro courses and know what terms like "socialism" means. The study guide for each mid-term had 70 id questions plus 4 essays. The final was comprehensive. It was too much.

Nice guy, good teacher. He gives you a lot of work, but it all is for a reason. The reading he gives you is voluminous; and there is always extra credit to be had.
