I enjoyed this class. Dr. Monahan prepared many handouts which are useful for answering the weekly questions in this hybrid (half face to face, half online) class. Exams are clear cut, but be prepared to study and remember details. The book selected was very interesting, but try to find a used version as no companies are buying it back.

Comment:
The class has a lot of work,avoid this class if you are not committed to learn history. The professor provides important info, many handouts and power points, however his class tends to be a boring because is 3 books a lot of reading and little time. Keep in mind this is an U.L. History course, it will not be easy and it will be very demanding.

Very interesting class, Dr. Monahan is a subject matter expert and has a good sense of humor. Assignments are very well laid out, but be prepared for a fair amount of writing and memorization. He ensured all students were ready for exams. However, there were too many handouts, much of which repeated what was already in the excellent textbook.

Dr. Monahan is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is very approachable, knowledgeable, and makes the subject matter very accessible. If you are in Yongsan you have to take him--you will be glad you did.

Great teacher, hard but fair. Don't pass up an opportunity to take any class he teaches. Well worth it. He will give you a break when you need it.
