Comment:
Prof. Muyskens is a very kind and caring individual, regularly available to meet with students who have questions. He's clearly good in the field of chemistry, but teaching isn't really his strength. While he does provide handouts to follow, his lectures are somewhat unorganized and it can be unclear what you will be tested on.

Extremely unorganized and doesn't teach. Talks about random ideas in class that are impossible to take notes on. He assumes you know many things that he should instead be teaching. Learned more from classmate presentations than from him. If it weren't for his kind heart and that he is new to this course, he'd be close to the worst prof I've had.

Was never too busy to explain labs in further detail and help me hammer out homework problems. Was flexible with lab due dates so we could turn in our best possible work. Prepared us well for tests and graded fairly.

Comment:
Be prepared for a disorganized, unprepared class leader and a lot of youtube lecture watching. While this is the first time that he's taught ENGR 106, the simple things that go along with leading a class, like getting you the answers to the previous test before the night of the exam (yes that happened) aren't his strong suite. Avoid if possible.

I'll give him a break as it is his first time teaching the class.. But he was terrible. consistently unprepared. couldnt answer student's questions clearly. poorly worded and unfairly weighted tests. very limited partial credit. if you didnt seek outside help tests/homework were very difficult.

Perhaps the chillest prof ever. Really relaxed and understanding. Lectures are fairly coherent, though not very organized or engaging. Occasionally looks at the textbook to figure out where he's going next in lecture... Never gets anything back to you (esp. labs), but doesn't expect you to turn them in on time either, easy to procrastinate.

Very nice guy who is very smart, though his organizational skills could be improved. Very easygoing with HW and his tests were not too difficult; his grades are based on how the class did, not necessarily your number grade. Good prof overall.

He's really nice and willing to help. The classes are often boring. You have to do the homework and study a lot if you want to do well. All-around he's a decent prof.

Comment:
Quite disorganized and does not entirely have a clear idea about each class; he likes be interactive and make students think and receive ideas about preconceived thoughts on things. He is also very behind on his feedback for homework and labs. He is very nice to talk to and ask about homework, of which he is very flexible on timing. Overall ok...

Nice man, easy class, almost no homework. His classes are disorganized, spends too much time talking about pointless stuff, serfing web for info, or talking about own research.

He did appear to be very helpful. His lectures were horrible. I don't think I learned too much while actually in class. But I did like how he gave us study guides. He spent too much time telling us about his research.
