Comment:

Streder is a great teacher. He jams out on the piano during class, tells great stories about his gigs, and teaches really well. Most of the class is just ear training and practice/real quizzes. No homework because, for most students, this class is review. Get ready for "Fake outrage," "Show business," "7-1 4-3," and many more famous phrases.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I've ever had, and definitely the best professor I've had in my first year. He is very clear about what will be on the tests, and is very helpful if you need it. No homework, but you can work anyways to get the content engrained into your head. Unfortunately you have to test into a Theory class, so hope you test into his!

7-1 4-3!! Streder is an incredible educator. He is honestly the only person I would wake up for at 8am! Not only did I learn a ton but I found a mentor in him as well. Not to mention he is one of the top gigging pianist in chicago. Take the time to talk to him and study before the entrance theory exams because trust me, you want Streder!

Great teacher, better person! Always willing to help out, go in his office to have a conversation about life! Take any class with him if you can, even if you're not interested in the topic because by the second lecture, you will be! All around, super-fantastic!

Streder's class is the most fun I have had in any class ever. He makes the lessons funny and easy to remember. He tells you what is on the tests every day, and he will help you as much as you need as long as you ask him. He loves absolutely everyone, but he does have his favorites. LOVE him. If you get a chance, take a class with him.

I adore Streder! He really does love everybody (just some more than others!). He never gives homework, but teaches the information so well that you never need it. I can not say enough good things about this man. I wish I didn't have to go to theory 3!

Best teacher ever. No homework, never needed. We were way ahead of the classes that got daily homework but the end of the year...he explains thoroughly, intelligently, and he's funny to boot. Best guy. Remembers everyone. My hero. Drinks too much coffee. I like his grey sweater.

Streder is an amazing professor, and just an all-around great guy. He's pretty much the surrogate Dad for everyone in the Music Department. I learned so much from him that I'm taking MIDI with him again in the Spring.
