This class is amazing and interesting. Midterm and Final are both on Canvas. She takes roll every class! Lectures are super informative and her videos are fun to watch. Group Presentation on a film at the end of the semester pretty clear and simple though. Make sure to ask for your grade because slow to put grades at times.

She is awesome! She cares about her students ! I would definitely recommend her. The class might be a bit unorganized but overall it was amazing.

This class was not terribly tough in any way. You just show up and she meets with the class for 10 minutes and then its time to watch the film so there is not much lecture from her. I wish she was a little more clear with what she wanted in her responses, but overall the class was pretty light in terms of workload.

Comment:

Dr Husain is awesome, shes one of my favorite professors. The CineCulture course has been one of my most favorite courses, and I plan on making Friday evenings a CineCulture night every semester (free movies?!!). Prof seems to care a lot, she loves dogs, and the speakers are always so great! The course is easy, and entertaining! I love it! 10/10

Easy class but you may want to save your sanity and pick a different prof. She complains the whole class instead of lecturing. Thank god the tests are online at home so you can use your book. No way you can pass a test based on her lectures. 3-4 presentations. Be ready to get your public speaking toned up causes shes a tough grader on those!

Easiest A ever. Attendance is mandatory, she will take attendance EVERY DAY. She yells at her computer alot lol. usually takes 2 mins to start class, super unorganized and will be like, do this for now, BUT WILL NEVER WASTE TIME. she will show you that another world besides your own exists. test was on blackboard, and all other assignments are EASY

Dr. Husain is pretty lenient. There are a bit of writing involved, but they are relatively simple and straightforward. Her class is a bit unorganized though, as she would jump around with assignments and such stuff, and sometimes i'd go into class not really knowing what to expect. Pretty easy class though, just do your assignments, and youll pass.

She's ok. Wasn't clear with how she wanted the presentations so the first one was a mess. It's mostly self teaching and reading the book then taking quizzes here and there. She's nice in general but can come off as rude sometimes. Little to no homework.

It's a movie class, 5 actual movie reflections, and 10 reactions to other students reflections. Very easy course in terms of what is expected, and the courseload. She can be a bit intimidating at times, but you can tell she enjoys what she teaches. Guest speakers are a cool part of the film showing process, and they are awesome to listen to.

Cineculture is an easy A and fairly fun. As a teacher she is somewhat disorganized but makes it work. Try to stay away from political topics in writing, just focus on the movies. It was boring, but easy and educational. I am really glad I took the course, if you are willing to give up your Friday nights do it. Don't buy the book even tho she says 2

Are your views more conservative? This class has a lot of political discussion and conservative views don't get voiced to well. Talks a lot about bigoted people but doesn't like conservative views She mentions that she has white privilege but is dis-privileged from her last name. Attendance is mandatory and the course is relatively easy to pass

Dr. Husain does not ask too much of the student, besides writing 5 reflections on 5 films, and 10 reactions to other student's reflections on the films watched in class. I did not spend a lot of time on the course myself, however, Dr. Husain is a fair grader, and does not make getting an A difficult. I would take this course again for sure!

Dr. Husain is so sweet. Her assignments vary from film reviews, presentations (group and self), guest speaker write ups, and two tests. If you show up to class and do your assignments, it's an easy A. I found the class very interesting and influential. A little too open with her political opinions. She takes attendance every day.

Professor Husain is genuinely nice professor. My only problem with the class is the fact that she was never clear with what she wanted done. Also, we had to do a presentation and she would say "You are short on time" multiple times throughout which generally wasted our presentation time even more. Other than that, it's an easy class.

Mary Husain is a very nice and openminded women who encourages her students to participate. If you don't come to class you will have trouble with this course. If you are an active part of her class more than likely she'll work things out with you if so you ever have a problem. Her lectures are not bad, at all. I recommend her to everyone.

She is so confusing when it comes to homework and assignments. Lectures are so long. You can tell she's very liberal. But she is an easy grader. Participation matters. I would take her again.

Grades on attendance, gives tons of extra credit, final and midterm from home, group project, couple of small presentations on easy, fun stuff. Lots of variety on material, lectures can be a little boring, But, she releases early or has us get in groups. She gives lots of chances to turn in assignments and likes when you volunteer to speak.

This class was So Easy and fun! Take her!! I don't get the reviews? Show up, Participate, online midterm and take home essay final, Easy assignments (put some consideration into them, it makes a difference in the grade she gives.) She isn't tough. She is really understanding. Easy A!Plus, you learn great information. Guest speakers, videos , slides

This class is a joke. Literally spent the entire semester watching videos and doing group-work (less for her to grade I guess). Can't say I learned much, if anything, but on the flip-side it was incredibly easy. Show up to class, do the high-school grade level busy work, and you'll get an easy A. Do not recommend for MCJ majors, every1 else sure.
