Not the worst teacher but this womans personality is awful. She chooses a few students she likes and is nice to them. The rest are subject to rude and disrespectful comments. Wouldnt suggest her to anyone because no one deserves to be mocked while theyre trying to get their education.

If you just want your Gen ed done then I would take her just to get it out of the way. I felt as if she could careless about anyone in the class. If you ask for help you can tell she doesn't want to. She expresses kindness but inside, I question. All the material/hw is online. In class you work on your hw and do group work. easy class but no bueno

Mary Stevens will force you to drop the course if you know 4 words of Spanish even if you havent taken a Spanish class for years. She will then make you take a more advanced class (Im an engineering major trying to get this GE req out of the way) and ultimately have to drop it because it is too difficult like you warned her. She is awful.

Comment:

Although the course load isnt the lightest, this is the teacher to have to genuinely teach you the language in order to move forward to the next level. The homework is not just random grades, it actually helps you learn. She is a quick and clear grader, is extremely devoted and is available outside of class a lot. Fun and organized. Understanding.

Professor Stevens is a great Spanish teacher, she really helps the information stick in your head, BUT, she is an extremely interactive teacher. There's group and partner work every single day. I'm introverted/shy so this was very annoying, but she's still good at her job. If you don't mind the social interaction, then I highly recommend her!

I loved profesora stevens! She made spanish fun and easy to learn. lots of homework but it was easy and really prepares you for the tests. No midterm but a few chapter tests and a final which were both easy if you pay attention and do your homework. she offers extra credit and has lots of office hours. I am taking her again for spanish 2

Profesora Stevens is an excellent teacher.. In each class, we spoke, read, listened, worked in groups and individually. methods so that our various learning styles were take. Questions were encouraged and answered clearly. Profesora is extremely organized with clear expectations. She is also kind, funny and caring towards her students.

Took my first hybrid class w her. shes really laidback & she cares about the success of her students. Takes her SEI seriously & will change her teaching style to best suit you. A lot of hw but tbh its so easy and exams come all from quizlets. Slightly has some strict policies about attendance but thats understandable if its a hybrid class.

More on the strict side with classroom rules, but an overall great professor. She assigns ilrns weekly as well as quizlets, which really help you learn the language. She is all about repetition so that everything sticks with you, and she gives great lessons in class. Tests are very fair, and study guide are posted before each test.

I took her Elementary Spanish 2 hybrid class this past semester, and we did not do anything productive in class. Each week, we had to complete about 20 iLrn's and Quizlets (depending on the chapter), and she only gave us from late Friday to Sunday night/Monday morning to complete all of them. Honestly, I did not like her for the hybrid class.

Really sweet woman and makes it easy to learn Spanish. Spends a lot of time giving you methods for remembering terms and relates it to real things by having you do muscle memory exercises. Also you get to salsa, somewhat awkward

I wish I had her when I first took spanish in high school. She relates stuff to the actual thing rather than just to the translation in english. There's homework twice a week except when theres tests but its not too bad. Wish I didnt have to have both online and hard copy of the textbook. Be prepared to awkwardly dance with people in your class.

Mary Stevens is always willing to help you and find a way for you to pass! She assigns online homework almost every class, but it helps. She's best if you've taken at least one spanish class in high school as she moves somewhat fast. We do a lot of groupwork in class, but it's helpful groupwork! Repetition is key in her class. She is fantastic!
