Comment:

Dr. Blankenship was one of the best Psychology professors I've taken. He truly will work with you if you don't understand the material. Just ask questions! Tests are hard, so take notes and read the chapters. Go to class! The material is dense, but he tries to use good examples to demonstrate. Overall good professor. You get the grade you earn.

Skipped class all the time and passed. Thought he was going to be easy due to it being a level 100 class but naw!!! His lectures are boring and his tests are hard but all the quiz are online and you can use all the notes, books, and internet you want....I still have all the quizez and answers so if you need them follow me on twitter @OKG_ANTHONY

Comment:

Took this professor my freshman year for intro to psych. Thought he was going to be easy but this was not the case. His powerpoint slides and information are straight forward and you have to take time to study. But even if you do study his exams are very difficult. If you do take do not miss any class, quizzes, study, and hope for the best.

He was boring. Had other classes that he put effort in. Felt like we got the short end of the stick. No study guides, 4 take home pop quizzes/study guides. Not the best class I've taken. Would recommend him for other classes NOT Psy 346. Learned 0 Motivation and Emotion.

knows what he's talking about but not how to break it down in an understandable way This class is though for people who don't know much about neuroscience and he doesn't do a good job of making the understudying any better No study guides be prepared to be screwed on the essay ?'s because hell always add ones he didnt say would be on it dont take

Great teacher. Makes intro psych info interesting and easy to understand. Attendance is important, and there are a lot of extra credit opportunities just for showing up. Enjoyed his class and would take another with him.

The power point slides aren't very informational or helpful for take home quizzes. The book isn't helpful either because it is hard to dissect and makes things appear more complicated than they are. Hard to pay attention to him.

The hardest class I have ever taken. I tried to go in for help, but he didn't want to give me too much information because I needed to figure it out on my own... I have taken other 400 level courses and none of them have been this impossible. I can't wait until this class is over.

Comment:

I can't state how much Matt taught me. Matt is highly intelligent, patient, nice and helpful, and makes things like neuroscience approachable and fascinating. Even though Matt has to work inside a super small underfunded department, you can learn a lot from this guy. Truly the absent minded professor stereotype, but a great professor all the same.

Cool guy. Gives a lot of examples but sometimes gets boring because he just reads off the powerpoints. Quizzes are either take home or online, and most mulitple choice questions for the tests are from the quizes. He will give hints of what the short answer questions will be for exams.

Dr. Blankenship is a great professor! I highly recommend you read the material and show up to lectures. Overall, great guy and a very understanding professor! MAKE SURE YOU GET HIM!!! You will have to put in work, but it will pay off if you really want a good grade.

I love Dr. B!! He is really awesome. Of course if you don't apply yourself, you're not going to do well in the class. A lot of people just don't want to do the work, but expect an A because it's a gen ed class. No, not going to happen. Read the book and go to lecture and study for the tests and you will do awesome.

Dr. Blankenship is one of my favorite teachers. He is very passionate about his work. He is flexible with meeting with you if you need help. He makes the material clear to understand and if you go to class, the tests are easy. You have to read the chapter and take quizzes weekly but they aren't hard. I highly recommend taking his class!

This teacher is very knowledgable in the subject, but does not relate to students well. He refused to create a study guide when asked by a student, and blames the students for consistently poor grades on tests. I believe he needs to reevaluate his teaching style.

Great guy, extremely lenient on due dates because the level of the material is difficult. Always helpful if you have questions. Make sure you read the book all the way through the chapters because it helps for the exam. Exams are mostly essay with multiple choice, the class is a lot of work but it's possible to get a good grade. TONS of reading...

He's okay. Took intro to psych with him, and the lecture was easy to understand but very boring sometimes. He doesn't take attendance, but go to class because he gives random quizzes out sometimes. I used the book a lot for studying, which helped. Received a B in the class, but it was not easy. You have to study almost every night.

Blanknship was an alright teacher. He was a cool guy and new alot about the subject. The class was alittle challenging, mostly the tests were impossible. I failed every test and went to class everyday and ended up getting a B in the class so go to class and study and read and you will be fine.
