Dr. Hearn is absolutely amazing. He is a 10/10 professor and cares so much about his students. He really does everything he can to reach out to students to make sure they are doing well, is a great person, and I have so much respect for him. He makes class fun and enjoyable while getting the material across clearly.

In this class you just read the Iliad out loud every day. There's a lot of discussion, and it's taught by two teacher, so get ready to talk. It's not everyone's thing, but if you like English and History take this class. It's interesting, easy, and they're good teachers to get to know.

Dr. Hearn is a fantastic teacher! He is extremely smart about history, literature, English, and pretty much anything. He is always very clear with instructions and always happy to answer questions. Also hilarious and very nice.

Comment:

Dr. Hearn is very intelligent, and I can tell that he loves literature. However, he is not very accessible to students. The class work was online, so we did not meet in person much. He never answered his emails, and I never received feedback on the work I submitted. I was kind of frustrated with that. I don't think I'd take him for another class.

I really love this man. He is a fantastic teacher. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about literature. He is by far my favorite professor. He leads a tough class, but it is absolutely worth it.

By far the best lecturer I've ever had in college. He made me actually care about the Iliad and Gilgamesh, something three other teachers and professors have utterly failed at. He's very personable, a tad scatterbrained, but ultimately one of the best professors I've ever had. I highly recommend him for any and all class, especially World Lit 1.

EXTREMELY knowledgeable, both intellectually and practically. His seminar will make you stronger if it doesn't kill you. To this day, it's the highest work-load class I've had. Really prepares you, though. Comp and Rhetoric doesn't seem like a great deal of fun, but once you get out of it you realize what a better writer you are because of it.
