I put the time/effort in/watched all vids/did all readings but still struggled so much because she's that tough of a grader & seems to wants u to solve on your own. Interesting class & she's enthusiastic, but WAY too meticulous for an intro course that's supposed to be for comm majors. Great if you want to learn code but a gamble with ur grade

Comment:

I took it alongside reporting and got a B+ because I kept forgetting to do the discussions, which were due the same night as my lab. It's a very interesting class that I'd recommend to any journalism major. Attendance is mandatory and she wont let you sign the sheet if your even 5 minutes late!She also keeps it up front so you cant sign others in.

Comment:

If you are interested in journalism and history then this is a really good class. It's very interesting if you read the book and pay attention. Attendance is 10 percent. 2 of 3 papers are counted toward final grade. Tests are fill in blank and graded fairly. Only complaint was that she took too long to post grades. Avoid if you hate history.

SO BORING. Devotes 1/3 of class to cave paintings. Assigns papers and doesn't grade them until over a month later. Tests are all fill in the blank. Way too difficult for a 2000 level journalism elective.

great class, but VERY time consuming! two of the projects literally took me a whole weekend each. i wouldn't take it in the fall if at all possible; football games wouldn't allow you to finish your projects on time.

GREAT professor --- truly knows what she is talking about. Very eager to help and fun to talk to. A bit erratic with grading, though --- I never had any idea what my grade was going to be on my projects. If you are a journalism major, I highly recommend taking at least one of the online media lab classes with her!

The class is not difficult but it's boring. There were no exams or a textbook but that meant we had to do presentations and weekly quizzes that were ridiculously picky. I would say to take this class if you have no other choice for scheduling, otherwise take something else.

She's a great person and very friendly in office hours. I think I got better-quality instruction from Professor McAdams, but I think my grade suffered a little bit too. She's overly qualified for the class, but she is a great instructor!
