Dr S is a pretty funny guy. Has a lot of stories that directly relate to the course. Critical thinking is key in this class, and imperative to your essays. 4 books, three essays, and a few quizzes. If you don't plan on participating, prepared to be bored to death. Just voice your opinion and have a conversation with him! DONT USE YOUR CELL PHONE!

He is really into discussion, which can be hard. You have to read 3 books, and write 5 papers about different books and films. Gives letter grades, than percent grades. Went slow, so we were behind schedule. If you write well and talk a lot that agree with his thoughts, he will like you and give you an A. P.s.Don't ever sleep or use you phone.

Interesting teacher. He has many stories with Tim Leary and other things, which I find funny. Almost broke the phone, while calling tech support lol. His reactions to people are hilarious. Essays can get annoying, but not bad to do. Good grader. His class is always behind, so he tends to change due dates. Take him if you need any English class.

Prof Seesholtz is definetely a wonderful professor. I would take another class from him in an instant. I think he may be the teacher I learned the most from at Penn State Abinton. EXTREMELY helpful teacher. He actually worked with me on one of my essays to submit to the Honors College. I got in and I owe a lot to him for it. Fantastic prof!!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. He had a genuine interest in how everyone in the class was progressing, and the only people who didn't like him were people who didn't put in the work. He helped me become a better writer all around. I would take another class in a second

Prof. Seesholtz was one of the best professors I ever had. He was helpful with his criticisms, and was always willing to help improve people's writing. The only people who hated him were people who weren't willing to put in the work. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

I had Seesholtz teah a class along side Polk. He was amazing. I always looked forward to his class, and when you would speak, you could tell he was actually listening to you. Not like those other teachers who are just looking to grade you. It was clear that he really enjoyed watching his students learn. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

Mel is very chill, unpretentious, funny and spirited. He doesn't have any stuffiness to him at all. Refreshing for a literature prof. As long as you show up, participate, do you work (there isn't a whole lot of it anyway) and engage with the material you're all but guaranteed a good grade.

Although I'm no longer a student he was the best professor I ever had. He's kind and his class was of the highest quality. I received an "A" in all three classes. Yes, you must work hard to receive that "A" but its worth the hard work. Extremely intelligent!!!!

He is very liberal, yet has some kooky and intriguing ideas that are beyond realms of any political party. Class-wise, we had interesting discussions, and his harshness on my papers broke down my ego I saw how I had much room for improvement. He definitely gives you something to think about.

Wow all these negative remarks!! Mel is a great teacher, he knows his stuff. Really laid back, lets you push deadline like no other professors and really care about his students. at times he may go off on things but thats just how much passion he has on what he teaches. the papers are really easy to write. he'll tell you the format of the paper
