Comment:

Super easy class, no homework. I would not want to take him for anything else. He didn't actually teach- we had speakers every week (10 week course). Attendance and participation is mandatory- he does keep track of participation. He is difficult to understand and is not clear. Would not recommend him for a regular class.

Unless you enjoy listening to half an hour lectures based on personal biases that consist of multiple multiple tangents...Do not take him. He grades on personal beliefs over actual content every time. And the exams are virtually impossible. To those who end up with Tripp, Good luck.

This teacher is ridiculous. I should have listened to all the other comments on here, but i figured that these people just didnt try. I have a 3.73 GPA and I am afraid of what I will get in a 100 level class. Everything people say on here is true. He doesn't explain, doesn't help (by phone or email) and isn't organized. LISTEN-dont take with him!

DO NOT TAKE HURL 102 WITH THIS PROFESSOR. He requires students to participate yet each time they do he shoots them down as though no one is ever right besides himself. Students cant open up about the racial topics in history that were learning about because everytime someone does, Tripp finds a way to point them out and make them feel stupid.

Do not take this professor. You will not get a good grade. He is not helpful and doesn't care about your grade-He sets you up to fail. No A's were given in the entire class. Only 2 B's. A lot of students got C's or lower. Too much work and effort to get nothing out of it.

Would not take a class with him ever again. If you asked a question he wouldnt answer it, just rambled on with big words and ignored the question. Tests are extremely hard. Some questions he never even taught anything about. Must attend class no excuses for absences. Does not explain assingnments at all.

He is the worst Prof I have had to date. He is very confusing, doesn't answer questions directly, encourages discussion and your opinions and then shoots them down. Thus, wondering why you even bothered in the first place. Also he hates the military and the government policies. To sum up HURL 102: Don't bother taking it with him.

NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS. Half the time he doesn't know what he's talking about and you will not know what he's talking about. He rambles on, & criticizes everything you say. He where's a different hat everyday and velcro shoes. He laughs at his own jokes that aren't even funny. TAKE HIS BROTHERS CLASS! so much more but don't have enough room to type

Terrible Professor. Isn't clear on anything, tests are ridiculous. There are questions on the test on material never covered in the class. TOUGH GRADER.Highest grade on our first test was a D+. Very hard to understand. You have to write 2 essays the 1st around 5pages, the second around 10. Do yourself a favor, take this class with another professor

Honestly, teacher is a joke. He expects too much of you. He acts as if he's knowledgeable, but he just jumbles big words together in one sentence to come off as intelligent. He thinks that everyone should be crystal clear on an assignment after talking about it merely once. Expectations are too high, education received is barely existent.

Absolutely horrible. He literally called me stupid in front of the class. I would NOT recommend taking his class. In general, what you are learning is interesting, but he SUCKS at telling you it. if you HAVE to have him, you should pretty much print everything off D2L and read the entire book if you plan on passing. like i said, horrible teacher!!

He was not a very good teacher. He has good intentions, but the road leads to hell. VERY!! horrible at explaining the specifics for assignments. When he speaks, he often goes off on tangents. He expects you to bring certain papers or assignments to class with no notice prior to the class.Do not take it with him.

Dr. Tripp isn't a conventional prof. If you want to truly open your mind to the world of diversity and want to learn history and from one who picketed in the 60's, was thrown in Jail, and who has a unique perspective on race relations today, Great Instructor. Tripp "did" and "does!" He is NOT a prof who "can't" practice what he preaches. I'm white.

Good teacher. He has his opininon on topics, just like everyone else and you just have to come to class open minded and non-judgemental on others opinions. The tests are all based on what was discussed in class so take good notes!
