She is a consumate hospitality professional. Her range of experience benefits the classes she teach. I see many remarks about she talks about herself too much but the depth and breadth of the hospitality industry necessitates lecture highlighted with actual experiences. Study, be on time, participate, and get a good group.

Group projects are 40% of grade (Cycle menu & Catering project) so a good group is crucial! Tests are similar to F&BC. Lab assignments are parts of group projects and 18% of your grade. Also only offered every 3 semesters. There is less "busy" work than F&B but definitely more work overall. Dr. Dahm is a great professor.

Your group can make or break you in this class. A TON of homework that seems like busy work but is the best way to understand the tests. Class is only offered every 3 semesters so be sure to schedule your semesters accordingly. Be prepared for drowning yourself in accounting!

Class attendance and participation is crucial. You MUST be on time to class and with assignments! No tests. Portfolio is extensive. Should take this class Jr. year so you have a "Molly Resume" for applications! Professional development and moral/ethical discussions. Don't be scared of her is you are a responsible human being and make and effort.

I took Senior Seminar during the summer and, while I was not looking forward to it, it has been one of my favorite classes so far.

I took Dr. Dahm for Senior Seminar and loved it. I looked fwrd to going to class everday. She makes class fun and interesting but demands respect at the same time. Dr. Dahm is extremely intelligent, and is well traveled. She's stern but it works well for her. I have much respect for Dr. Dahm.

When she's not talking about herself and what she knows about local people & local businesses, she comes across as overly simplistic, demanding & intimidating during lecture. She barely touches on the objectives in her syllabus and expects her students to teach themselves/ each other.

Her tests have nothing to do with the notes or with the book. She likes to brag about her accomplishments more than what is actually on the test or to do with the tourism classes. When you ask for help she will deny it and of course if you are her favorite she helps a lot.

Make sure you get on her good side. She stresses that you need the book, but if you don't have take home test, DO NOT BUY IT! She loves to brag about stuff she's done in life and is critical, but she's the only teacher, so good luck.

She has favorites and she her lectures have little to do with test. She comes off as if she will help you but you end up getting screwed. It makes it worse that she not only teaches all the classes but is also the advisor. She loves stating her accomplishments more than what's on the test.

Molly teacdhes ALL of the hospitality classes that are not lab. So try to get on her good side!! He test are HARD, however if you take really in depth notes you should be fine. She also LOVES to assign a presentation or project for ever class, usually with a partner. (DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!)Overall tho she teaches well, and very willing to help!
