Comment:

Sylvia is such a great professor. Her class only has 4 exams, 2 papers, and 4 vocabulary quizzes. You have to go to class because her notes are basically the exam, but she doesn't post her notes. She likes to have everyone's full attention. She does like 2 pop quizzes before each exam, but they count towards extra credit on the exam.

Comment:

Dr. Sylvia is a harsh grader, especially for an online class. She seems to be very nit picky with grading. Online class has many discussion posts that are only graded out of 3 points or 5 points, this makes it easy to get a bad grade if you dont write exactly what she wants.

Comment:

She's a great lecturer and explains every topic very well. When students asks questions, she is always positive with her responses. While a great teacher, she's not the most lenient because she makes expectations very clear. Her grading can be tough and at times seems nit-picky, but is actually just helping you for other classes.

Comment:

Lecture heavy, power point is a few words. Write everything down examples used in class usually are test questions. Willing to help out to make sure everyone understands the material. Do headline assignments early, she is very specific what she wants. Tests are kinda easy as long as you study, I recommend flashcards. I enjoyed this class.

Comment:

Made psychology interesting. Easy to follow in class. Her tests were very straight forward and easy to pass if you study your notes from class. She gives some pop quizzes but they were for extra credit so if you failed them its no problem. Very understanding and easy to talk to. BE ON TIME (its her pet peeve).

Sylvia is an awesome professor! She's always very helpful and there for her students whenever they need her. She has interesting lectures that are never boring and uses lots of videos to help students understand. Overall, tests are easy if you use the book and know your terms. Also gives extra credit opportunities which helps and she gives stickers

Sylvia is such a sweet lady and an amazing professor. There are 4 unit tests. No midterm or final. If you take good notes and follow the lectures, the class is an easy A.

did not enjoy class, started class 5-10 minutes early everyday so the class was more like an hour and a half, most lectures would put class to sleep.

Comment:

The best professor I've had. Sylvia is nice, supportive, and teaches in a way that works. She isn't a regular lecturer; she engages the students and makes funny comments that make you want to learn more. She is also very nice and supportive, and gives out extra credit quizzes to use as bonus points on the next test. Overall, she is fantastic.

Comment:

She's the best! 4 exams including the final, but the final is not cumulative. Her lectures are entertaining, and she makes classes very interesting. She does do pop quizzes, but they are for extra credit only. I would definitely recommend her.

Great teacher. I had a 8am class with her and she always kept us awake and made the class interesting. Tests are not very hard, but you do have to study for them. Never assigns homework. Overall great teacher.

This class was at 8AM and she kept me awake at all times. She knows how to teach and relates things. If you read the textbook and listen to the lectures you'll do great on the tests. She is there for her students with any help they need. She understood that the class was very early and wasn't too strict on participation.

This class actually made me switch my major, it was that interesting! (except i switched back to bio lol.) Her class was really simple, I managed to get by with an A without even looking at the book. All her test questions reflected what we learned in class. I believe there were 4 exams, 1 really easy paper to write. And she gives stickers. Woo!

Dr. Sylvia is great, she is so passionate about teaching. She really wants students to participate and gets frustrated when they don't. Test reflect material in class and book, although notes are not also clear since she doesn't always write them on the board. However will go out of her way to help her students understand material. Take her!

I had her for child psych and she was very interesting and always tried to make class fun. If you keep up with your work and study you're notes you should be fine. She is very helpfull. Gives quizes at the beggining of some classes. She doesn't give powerpoints, you get you're notes from lectures, but if you keep you'll do fine
