Comment:

I strongly recommend Prof. B. I had him for an Honors sem course. While it isn't hard to pull a B, Prof. Bohna is a fountain of knowledge (and very funny at that) and it would be a shame to waste him. You'll get out what you put into his class. (Random: he often comes too class smelling like a sweet cigar & LOVES media esp. Monty Python)

Monte is awesome! His lectures are interesting and he throws in humor. The tests are easy as long as you come to class. You don't have to read the books - in fact don't buy them. I just used the ones on reserve to cite quotes for my paper. Easy A/B

Comment:

Possibly the best professor I've had to date. Lectures were interesting and worth while. Tests were easy if you payed attention in class. I never touched the text book and still got an A. Recitation was pretty tedious and unhelpful but I would definitely, without reservation, suggest you try to get into a class with Professor Bohna.

Comment:

Dr. Bohna is a really good professor. I had him for British Isles Summer of 2005. He is a treasure trove of information and is capable of explaining concepts clearly to understand. Others have commented on his "accent" and pretentiousness, but in reality his "accent" is just his real voice. He just doesn't speak yinzer. Take Dr. B, you'll be fine!

Only went to lecture four times during the whole semester and got an A in the class. Exams are easy, just five one-page essays, and the TA was pretty lenient on length. Just go to recitations for attendance points and your grade will be fine!

I personally loved Professor Bohna and the class. He always making random but still relavent comments, telling great stories. It made me want to go to class. Barely read the book - only used it for exams, which are essay tests. Other people thought the class was boring. I disagree.

He's easily the best professor I've had at Pitt. I've had three courses with him and got A's in all of them. His tests are easy, just identification essays. He is a little tougher on term papers. I'd recommend him to everyone.

Good class, clear and helpful. A's are attainable but not totally easy. I didnt work too hard at all and I managed a B+. Lectures are just interesting to go to, he loves to tell his classes gruesome stories that he will get a reaction from, entertaining to say the least

Great personality, VERY knowledgeable. Took over the summer, pretty laid back. Had 2 tests/2 papers. Lectured class straight from his notes and watched a few cheesy films (HE even made fun of them). Although not particular on attendance, tests much easier if you go, study groups a huge plus. Great prof!
