Comment:

Magallanes is such a good professor. She's not of hispanic descent but she speaks Spanish like perfectly! She's so sweet and very patient. The class is pretty easy but attendance is a MUST! She takes roll everyday .. unfortunately. But other than that, she's great!

She was a great teacher! I took her in the fall and she was very sweet and helpful. The work wasn't hard and she told us what was gonna be on the exams. We had to memorize a spanish diologue for each exam and recite it from memory w/ a partner, but it was easy. We practiced in class & recited it to her in the hall so no one could hear us.

I was a little intimidated by her at first bc she speaks a lot in Spanish but as the semester went on I got more comfortable with her. She is extremely nice and helpful. You have a dialog which you memorize (very easy) and say it in front of her only with a partner (its 20 points on each test). She focuses a lot on culture! Take her!

She is the best spanish teacher, hands down!! You will learn so much from her, and she really tries to make her class enjoyable and intriguing! She does give homework, but not a lot, and it's only for your benefit to learn the language. Don't miss out on having the opportunity to learn from this wonderful lady!

Her class is very hard. I studied and made an A, but several people failed the course. She expects you to come into 2010 knowing much more than you learned in 1010 or 1020. Rude to students. Doesnt answer questions very well. Defensive about grades. Ridiculous amount of homework. Speaks spanish alot during class and won't explain in english.

Great Instructor! I learned a lot more Spanish from her. Homework everynight, but it helps. We had fun in class too, not just strictly work! This lady is the a great teacher and very encouraging! Nice to learn from someone who is not a native speaker, I feel she can empathize better w/ students because she's been there before!

I hated having this woman as an instructor. Key work is instructor she DOES NOT have a PhD and if you get a chance there are many better professors to take instead. She pretty much refuses to answer your emails. She also expects you to be fluent in spanish. Overall I am not impressed at all and surprised she is still employeed at the school.

Professor Magallanes is a hard teacher. Never have I dont so badly in a spanish class. I studied for the tests and did the homework and still got a C on every test. She is a very hard grader when it comes to exams. Also the way she structures her exams makes them more difficult. Overall not recommended unless you want to bust your butt

Great teacher! I loved her. Very sweet. Actually makes class fun. Looked forward to her class every time. Homework is easy. Written tests & quizzes are too. Oral presentations are a bit hard. Not too bad. Very sympathetic. Will let you make things up. She let me miss her class so I could vote! If you try hard, you'll do well. I made an A- !

Be prepared to have homework every night. The class was only 55 min., but she made it seem like hours. The last 2 weeks of class she gave a quiz every class. When it comes to doing things, everything must be done her way. For every test, you will have to memorize a dialogue with a partner (like a play). Take her if you like homework & participating

She expects us to all know Spanish and if she calls on you and it takes you more than one second to answer, she gets impatient and frustrated and calls on the next person. Tests are okay though, but she gives homework EVERY night!!
