Comment:

If you can tolerate some politics, it's a fun class. She knows you're all STEM majors, so she doesn't demand very deep discussion. Most of the HW is movies, with only two books and a few short stories. Most are pretty good, a few mediocre, none bad.

The professor uses both physical and digital media to teach the course. She clearly defines how the grading of the course will go, and gives a quiz ususally during the first 10 minutes; the quizzes overall are a small part of the grade, so attendance is only mandatory if you do not wish to receive a zero on these quizzes. The subject matter is fun.

I took this class cos of its interesting title "women in technology" DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASSPROF, she gives tons of readings like you taking only her class. quizzes at the beginning class, and she gives questions that makes no sense. Half the class gets zeros on some of the quizzes. ADVISE: look for a better humanity class and stay away from her.

She was a cool professor. Attendance was mandatory. She do a roll-call.She gave 2 essays,1 mid-term and a few take home assignments here and there.During class she gave a break around 7:30! Keep in mind that she runs overtime with movies. If the class ends at 9 you may not leave until 9:05 which sucks! The text is not required she gives PP notes!

cool lady...pretty boring, gives class break around 8-815 on a 6-9, retarded?...grades generously on papers but if you dont participate or blog she'll screw you hard..my friend got an A-B on everything but didnt blog or participate and got a C instead

She is a very nice person to talk to, but the class seems like it goes on forever. A lot of reading and that too long articles. Her exam are not that bad but i still don't know how this class would help any one in their field of study. Make sure you attend every class and sit through it.

Comment:

Part 1) Frankenstein being the oldest material and Gattaca the newest. Not everything a SciFi buff would expect to be covered so be forewarned not to expect too much. It's great for those of us with no expectations. Mid/Final is everything from the lecture ppt and some from discussions. Easy A if you take notes in class. 2 Essays.

She is very considerate and clear with what she's teaching! She helped me so much and gave me extension due date for assignments when I took off from class for a month due to illness! Very great professor! Very fun class discussion, too! Fantastic!

She is a very good teacher, but she does have issues with showing up on time, which wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't a Saturday morning class. Overall she was very helpful and her tests were easy if you did hte reading.

awesome discussions.. lots of readings.. shes fun.. but not too easy.. learned a lot in class
