Comment:

She was a pretty good teacher, she was just a little weird about having perfect grammar. In my opinion, this almost makes it harder to focus on the actual content of my work, rather than making sure I don't get points taken off my nutrition assignment for grammar errors.

Took her for an online course and it ended up with a 94 % on canvas + did all of the extra credit but ended up with a B+ as my overall grade? Im extremely upset.

Im taking this course online right now, I never looked on here to see the ratings for this teacher. I really do regret not looking, because Ive never been so stressed about the simplest things because of the way she grades. We have a huge paper that is equivalent to an exam and the directions suck. Its sad I have to spend my summer so stressed.

I am a week in and already this is the worst online class I've taken. I'm a 4.0 student and work hard for straight A's. She marks you down for any an all grammar mistakes. Buy the nutricalc thing on the actual website, it's 65 vs. 100 through Macomb. It's outdated, and not reliable for tracking food. Yet your paper depends on it. Worst online class

If you wrote the near perfect paper she would only tell you the negative. She would find something like a missing comma on page 2 of a 10 page paper and then mark you down a grade.

I've never seen a professor so strict on grammar and punctuation but yet their quizzes, exams, and message board posts are riddled with grammatical errors. She deducts points for such things as "non organic" instead of "non-organic" (no hyphen). Her assignment instructions are very confusing and unclear at times as well.

As of currently, I am passing with an A, so don't assume everyone posting bad reviews are mad because they didn't get a good grade. I am taking her for nutrition, she is a grammar nazi, deducts points if I put 'pan fried' instead of 'pan-fried'. When I asked her how many pages our paper needed, she told me to read the rubric (I did)and is unhelpful

She takes pts off for any & all grammatical errors. Her instructions are not clear & she will not take any exceptions. Any questions asked, you get extreme attitude. I let her know that she was being disrespectful & rude. I got a B & retook for an A. Quizlet is your best friend. I would not recommend this professor.

I took the hybrid and had her for the online portion. She has a homework then a quiz which doesn't correlate with the homework and the exams resemble neither. She gave us a 25 question ecology sample and said they would be on the final, not one was on my final. When I asked her to point them out she said my exam didn't get any. Her goal is to trick

Never again. Took this online. I wasnt aware I was taking an additional English class. God forbid you arent grammatically correct about everything youll be marked down. Be ready for an attitude when you need to contact her.

I am assuming the people who graded her badly didn't do well. If you put it the work and show effort to learn the material and not memorize, you will do great in the class. She is amazing, makes you critically think and guides you to the why behind the answer and doesn't just give it up. You really will learn from her, not just memorize for a grade

Professor Ragland was not a great professor. She is rude, and not very understanding. Her online class required us to pay an additional $100 for an access code, which I was not financially prepared for. I would not recommend her as a teacher, or as a person in general.

I was excited to be taking a nutrition course because I thought it would help me with my terrible diet. Instead this class is making me stress eat!! Grammar is very important to her, she'll knock of points for the smallest mistakes- not a large number but it's annoying to see 9.73/10 because you capitalized a letter. This isn't an English class!!!

Ragland is such a tough grader. She marks you down on so many things, and they could be the smallest mistakes. The tests are times and you barely get enough time to finish them. 100+ test in 60 minutes or less. She never emails you back and when she does, she is very rude. Thinks she is better than everyone. Overall, stay away! SO RUDE AND HARD

I go to a very well known university and took her nutrition class as a guest at MCC. In my 3 years of college, I have never EVER experienced a professor as bad as Ragland. I mean that with all my heart. She is rude, unspecific, condescending and grades everything very tough. Acts like she's teaching at a med school but it's just community college.
