Comment:

She was a little hard to follow at times. She often drifted in lecture to her own stories. She was very nice though. Her notes were not very helpful, discussion saved me and my TA was great.

Comment:

English is her second language, I believe and it is very tough to understand her. Her power points have grammatical errors throughout every single one and it is very hard to figure out what she is actually trying to say. I do not recommend taking her. She goes on tangents, and her tests dont make sense. The ta's feel your pain though and help out.

Comment:

TERRIBLE PROF!!! She seems like a nice enough person but she forgets what she is lecturing about in the middle of speaking, tends to ramble about personal stories instead of teaching, and is really vague. It is currently week 8 and she still hasn't told us when our final will be, horribly disorganized. However, her assignments are pretty easy.

Professor Vasquez is easily the worst professor I've ever had. Her lectures are extremely vague and she rambles on and on without ever asking for feedback or comments. I try to pay attention in class and take notes, but I get so lost so fast. If it weren't for my discussion, I would have no idea what the class was even about. Don't take her :(

Terrible. She talks about random stuff that have nothing to do with the readings and then she tests you on the readings and expects you to understand the theoretical concepts. The readings are dense enough, the least she could do is go over them in class. 1/10, would not recommend.

Prof. Vasquez is really cute and sweet! It will be to your benefit if you challenge yourself to adapt to her teaching and lecture style. It's not going to be easy but take it as "learning as a process of becoming." The only thing I think is unfair is how she can at times give unfair brownie points to students who ask relatively ordinary questions

Ppl who complain about her are the ones who base their opinion off the poor ratings on here from over a DECADE ago. I like her. The young students had a hard time with her, but I think she is great. She is passionate & cares about what she is reaching. She puts much time into prep work that she sometimes loses sleep making her confused when there is a disruption in class. I would take her again. She is great and her papers are only 2 pages, and only 2 of them

Her lectures can be a little repetitive but most of the material is pretty interesting. I really enjoyed the reader and the professor is a sweetheart. I did not have any problems with her at all.

Absolutely do not take a course with this professor. She gave us a prompt for our assignments weeks ahead of time, but they are vague and she will change her criteria on a whim, up until the last minute (no, really, she just sent us a revised prompt at midnight... the paper's due the next day). Save yourself the headaches.

I loved taking COHI 122 with Prof. Vasquez. I will never look at community the same. It was challenging however to be in a room of immature students which may account for the ratings here. I learned a great deal but it was because I had the desire to grasp the material. Professor Vasquez is highly qualified and can teach you a lot if you are open.

olga is a sweetheart and is very knowledgeable, but she's really bad at teaching this course! she should stick with senior seminars or grad courses, not this introductory course. lectures are complicated, readings and sections are a breeze. easy A.

The only thing I learned from my 'magical journey' is what an abysmally horrible teacher this woman is. She couldn't teach a fish how to swim. Avoid this professor at ALL COSTS.

The quarter becomes a ten-week "magical journey" where nothing made sense in the class until literally the last week or two of the quarter. The silly antics made the class somewhat a delight.

By far the worst teacher i have ever had. The only reason for attending the class, other than mandatory lectures for a 300 kid lecture hall, was hearing her continually preach about some journey we were all taking as students.
