Pamela was awesome! If you have to pick your FFC, definitely do Family Drama On Stage because it was the easiest class ever. I took it as a 3 hour class once a week and she let us out sometimes over an hour early (not always, but more than once). It's not like you learn a lot but its easy! It's boring too but you can bring your laptop to class.

Comment:

She is one of the sweetest professors you could ever have. She is so kind and has a sort of motherly way about her. If you are taking an FFC class take this one. It is easy (you write blog responses) and she almost always gives full points. Take it, you won't be sorry.

Comment:

"Great" plays chosen were hit and miss, but the class itself was OK. Teacher was condescending, tended to ask leading questions where she would only accept one opinion or answer. Assignments included reading plus some scattered quizzes and paper. No midterm, written final. Take if you can't decide on an FFC and you can look past the teacher.

I also disagree with most of the reviews on here. We hardly did anything really relating to plays in the class...We talk about a play for maybe one class period and then watch film adaptations and write responses, but it's NOT a film class. Also, the lectures are boring and she spends most if her time finding her information on IMDB

I don't agree with most reviews here… I found her lectures pointless, and there was a somewhat righteous air about her. She valued only select student’s opinions and often interrupted students when asking questions or sharing thoughts, sometimes ignoring parts of what they say. She also had a habit of giving no direction for assignments whatsoever.

This class was really annoying. We had to drive to LA up to 2 times per week to see plays which was obviously convenient for her (since she lives there) and not the rest of the class. The play choices were terrible and the neighborhoods were unsafe. She is very Disorganized and Unhelpful. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

I'm sorry, I don't agree at all with the others here. She lectures on and on, her "discussions" are a joke, and she hates it when she's doing something with the projector and the class talks. She talks down to us and it feels like she just likes the idea of talking to a group of students. Not hard - just hard to be with.

Although this class was challenging at times, she was a great prof. and I feel like a learned a lot. She holds great class discussions, but be sure to pay attention because she does randomly call on students. She's a fair grader and is very caring.

Very easy class and laid back teacher. She is there to help and does a good job of evoking discussion ideas and such from the class. The class was a little boring, but her teaching style was one of the highlights.

Awesome professor! Great lectures, interesting assignments, tells jokes that are usually funny, etc, etc. Actually cares about your progress in the class. Her Creative Writing class is the best thing I've taken in six semesters at Chapman.
