This teacher is willing to help you a lot and her dream is to teach art but you can put a lot of effort and she still give you a bad grade. This is coming from someone who got a high grade in AP art in HS but she expects you to carve a figure out of expensive stone and solder jewelry rings and watch videos and take tests based off of them.

Comment:

Mrs. Nakamura is a phenomenal teacher! She is so passionate about what she teaches, it's seriously contagious. Listen to her advice, and you'll see it pay off... and dont forget to study!! She really shows her care for her students and wants them to succeed. This class was fascinating and tooootally fun!

LOVED this teacher! she's the best on campus. I hated art and cannot make any form of art to save my life but she showed me that i would be able to. Very encouraging and helpful just ask her for help when you're stuck, it's just that simple. This is a very fun and relaxing class!Just do what she says and you'll be fine. she's here to help after all

The projects she chooses are very interesting and enjoyable. Her tests are very straightforward- class notes & video notes. The material you need to buy adds up pretty quick (as much/more as a book). I recommend taking this class for a challenge, there is no "easy A" in her class.

This was an interesting class. You do alot of fun projects like make jewelry and painting. Teacher is strict though, she will not put up with excuses or noise. All her tests come from her lecture notes and her videos. She has a very cut and dry personality but she is very helpful. You just have to ask for help.

Love this class.i hate art, but she showed me the other side of me. I actually enjoy art. hard to get it, but she'll lead you through it. you wouldn't believe what you're doing.this class is very interesting...her test are not that hard....it comes straight from the notes.....(video).she reviewed them, but you just have to take them.it's simple.

good teacher that helps you. Her humor is like .. whatever. She does not give you that much make up test and she is stric on the date. the tests are pretty hard because she gives no notes on board. Everything should come rom your notes from the video.

When I first took her class I thought she was really demanding, but within time I realized that she is only trying to teach techniques & art students that do their own thing will learn it doesn't work that way. Once technique is learned if student wants to apply to their art they can. Very good in teacher and very knowledgeable if willing to learn

Pat Nakamura employs a harsh, rigid grading system based on horribly vague criteria (sometimes her own opinion). She is rarely helpful, often quick to judge and lulls students to sleep with her trite, boring stories about buying skirts and the successes of her former students.

By far one of the nicest and most helpful teahers that I have met.In the beginning I was terrible at art, but now thanks to her i hae mae eautiful artwork that I am proud of. Anyone who does not like her must have jsut been messing around. Definitely not a hard grader. I highly recommend her!!!
