I never realized her wisdom until years later after I have now worked in the real world. Her book The Rich Get Richer The Poor Get Prison is a testament to our nation's history from the 70s and 80s and 90s and into the 2000s. She is fair, understanding and has compassion but also ensures you do the work needed to be a criminal justice worker

Dr. G is a excellent teacher.. She really helps when needed. She understands if you need to miss a class due to an emergency.. She will get up at 4 oclock in the morning before a 9 oclock class to help you with your homework that you procrastinated on for the entire semester.. if you dont take her you are missing out!!

Prof Grant had an assistant that was always available in the event she was not. When responding to student submissions Prof Grant was very professional and gave constructive criticism without being condescending or overly authoritative. My first 400 level class was not as bad as expected.

This is actually my second time having Dr. Grant as a professor. Neither time has it good experience and I would highly advice everyone to avoid her if possible. Reason being, for instance, her test questions are INCREDIBLY hard (copied straight from the textbook) but she will change 1 digit in a 4 digit sequence making it wrong... Really?

Class was frustrating because the notes and videos always messed up since she was teaching from Martinsville. Powerpoints were boring but videos were really interesting. Her tests are confusing/difficult but she gives points if majority misses questions. Turn in all work, grading isn't bad and it helps your grade. Don't stress about the papers.

She was teaching from Martinsville so the biggest problem I had was the problems with technology. It was frustrating that the notes and videos barely worked. Her videos were very interesting though and the papers/assignments weren't bad. The tests are pretty difficult/confusing but she is good about giving credit for questions that many people miss

Definitely WOULD not ever take this professor again. WI course, but WAY overboard with the assignments. I spent at least 5 hours on every assignment and she still gave mediocre grades. Confusing directions, and quite frankly, she is impossible to please. STAY AWAY unless you feel like putting forth superfluous effort for little to no payoff.

Had her for a topics class and it was very enjoyable. We watched CRJS related films and discussed perceptions and portrayals from the media. Writing intensive but if you come to class and pay attention it is not hard to get an A. She is helpful when you need her in clarifying assignments as well. I heard she is way more difficult in the senior semi

While she is is a nice teacher, her expectations can be a bit overwhelming. She is always willing to help. Dont take this class if you do not like spending hours researching to just write one paper. However she does tell you straight up that she expects the best from you. Expects nothing less.

Dr. Grant has a bright personality, but her lectures are not that great. All she does is use slides with direct quotes from the book and summarizes, so going to class is not mandatory. Her tests are given online, which is convenient.

Dr. Grant is GREAT! I took her online WI class and though it was somewhat difficult, she was very clear on class expectations and requirements. As long as you read the assignments and get your work in on time via the guidelines she sets you'll be fine. She has a great personality and takes a great interest in the well-being of her students!

I took her online class (Minorities in the CRJS system). It was basically 4 week long, 4 disc. board posts, and 4 exams. The posts were a lot of work but not too difficult. Her exams were timed& a bit tricky. I received an average of 84 on each of them. I ended up getting an 86.5 which I was hoping to be an A. She ALWAYS responds to email quickly.

By taking this course, my knowledge has expanded tremendously. Dr. Grant does an excellent job at presenting the information, and then letting the class discuss all aspects of the topic(s). She is very patient, and lets students express themselves regardless of their point of view. She is very interested in helping student's progress their studie
