Dr. Flynn loves when students participate in class; if enough people participate, the class will be better for everyone. Grading was based on three written assignments. For the first, he gave a 130% completion grade to those who turned it in on time. The other two assignments were more difficult, though group-work was offered.

Classroom discussion are central to this course. If you participate in the discussions in an positive manner--having read the textbook--you will succeed. The midterm and final are take home essays. Spend a good amount of time crafting arguments and you'll get an A.

Comment:

Professor Flynn knows logic very well. Unfortunately, for this particular class too much time was spent on e-logic, going over example after example. It would have been more productive to go farther into the textbooks and cover more of the caveats of logic. Very test heavy; but open book. Read then bring your book and you'll be fine.

Flynn is extremely laid back. He lectures for the entire class period in a slow and monotone voice. It takes him a long time to get through things. However, there is not much work in this class. As long as you show up for exams and turn in the two assignments you should be fine. Take this if you want a blow off class that you can do homework in

I've noticed that this professor is extremely laid back. He lectures the entire period with mostly examples, which can obviously get boring easily. It's definitely a blow off class so you can do other work during it. Only had 2 assignments due and i got 200% for turning in early. Midterm and final was kind of hard, but he curves it a lot.

For this course - he barely took attendance, so that was nice. You have two essays, which are the midterm and final. You are required to buy like 4 books, don't do this, because you won't need them, and you can easily cite other legit sources in your paper, or get the book from the library. Overall, easy A.

Two midterms and a final that make up your grade. He assigned hw in the beginning of the semester but slowly digressed from giving the class hw. Idk what in the world I learned but I got an A. To many if was a blow off class, but dont expect walking in to get an easy A.

I really enjoyed Flynn. While many students made fun of him and say he's boring... I disagree. At times the lectures do get boring and go off on a tangent, but he's trying to be funny and relate to the students. He's a good guy and is very knowledgeable on the subject.

Easiest A ever. All you do is write two papers in this class which I doubt he even reads. No homework tests or quizzes. Just come to class and be apart of the discussion every now and then and you'll get an A.

He assigns assignments but never remembers to collect them. He doesnt take attendance. He doesnt have any grades except your final. He lectures the entire class. Hes always late. He never learns your name. Hes laid back. Hes nice. He has a bunch of rules but never enforces any of them. Take this if you want an easy A or need a "study hall".

Dr. Flynn is a laid back professor, there is minimal use of the text in this class, I shared the text with 3 others, Just show up to class and participate. Mid-term and Final are take home. Easy A.
