He has quizzes that are only 1 question so if you do not get it right you get a zero on the quiz, and he never tells you when the quiz will be or what it will be on, also doesn't let you take quizzes if you weren't there. Hes very liberal and if you write anything he disagrees with he gives you a low score. Also study guide is useless for final.

Assigned a really interesting book. Funny guy. Kinda quirky. Woke enough to teach history in a way that doesn't make me want to bang my head against the desk. Doesn't tip toe around atrocities committed by Americans/our government/racism. The study guide's aren't helpful. ETC helps. If you're not paying attention to the lectures you will not pass.

I had gilmores class for three hours so it was a pain he lectures past the time and he gives a 12 minute break .his class is easy if you study. study guides are LEGNTHY. Pop quizzes. He grades his papers very hard BUT he drops one of the three . he loves what he does which makes it a tad bit interesting but other than that his class is a big NO

He is a very nice guy. His grading is very reasonable. But he requires good writings. This class is like the upgraded version of ENGL 1A. If you are bad at writing and take his class, then bad for you.

Best history teacher! I've always hated history, but Gilmore makes lectures really interesting. There's no homework but you will have to write a few papers on a book he assigns. He's super understanding and gives you chances to bring your grade up. His powerpoint have very little to no words so you do have to show up and take good notes.

He does not stick to the syllabus. He is constantly behind in his lectures so the homework he has you do is not about what he is lecturing on. His lectures are based on his emotions and he pushes his political agenda through his lectures. His powerpoint are all pictures and you have to take notes based off of what he says only and he talks quickly.

Professor Gilmore is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. His passion for history and the way he cares about his students is second to none. His lectures are great and he usually shows interesting videos on YouTube in the few minutes before class starts. Theres a decent amount of reading, but his grading is fair and hes always willing to help

Gilmore is a really good teacher, he lectures a lot so you really have to pay attention to get good notes. Also he offers a lot of extra credit and ETC helps a lot. Also you'll be assigned two books to read over the semester and you'll write an essay for each of them.

It's all based off his lecture lol! He talks from start to end so don't expect to get many comments or questions in. He really knows and loves his history. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot.

I took his History 12 class and it was a great experience. I didn't need to use the textbook. He really tries to make the material fun to learn. He doesn't sugar coat history so prepare for the brutal facts. He will sometimes go off subject but it's still great information. I highly recommend this professor.

Professor Gilmore is the best! He is a very generous grader, passionate about what he teaches, and is an all-around nice guy. He goes off topic occasionally and can come off as scattered during his lectures sometimes though. Would definitely recommend taking his class though. Super knowledgeable.

Very nice/fun person but goes off topic A LOT. It makes it very difficult to follow along during lecture. Tests can be hard because you need to remember everything from every chapter. They're always going to be Ch. 1- whatever chapter you're on. There are 2 papers that are based of 2 different books you HAVE to read. Attendance is very important!

Professor Gilmore really makes you want to come early to class and stay late to talk to him. He cares deeply about what he teaches and he sincerely cares about you as a student. He really wants you to think and take everything you can out of his courses. He makes himself available anytime to all students. He is pumped up about teaching! A++++

Easy quizzes, just make sure to study for his tests, a lot of questions on the test will be on past quizzes. His grading on your readings is what kills it for me with this teacher, if you dont agree with him on your essays, odds are you wont get an A paper. Its the only thing that kept me from an A. Hes very passionate about his history though

So Gilmore does make you put a lot work in to earn the grade you want but he held study sessions a few times throughout the semester to make sure those who wanted to pass would. I HATE history but Gilmore made it all into one big, dramatic story which was easy to follow and more interesting than I expected. If you have to take history, take Gilmore

Gilmore is very passionate about teaching. He makes history interesting compare to others. Just listen well and take good notes while he lectures i'm sure you'll do well on his quizzes. However, I didn't really enjoy doing his essays because those were very time consuming and I received only decent scores. His exams are pretty challenging as well.

in this class, we only have 2 exams - the midterm and final. no homework at all. he lectures the whole class period. he doesnt write anything on his powerpoints. its only pictures, so you really have to pay attention to his lectures to take good notes. he's very strict for essays. if you miss more than 15 classes, he'll drop your grade down by 1
