He's class is quite tough. However, I believe that he knows how to instruct a good expository writing class. He leads a good discussion about the materials and gives a clear guideline toward a good writing. Take him if you would like a challanging but fruitful college writing experience!

I took him for Writing as a Naturalist (Eng Comp 352) We wrote 2 papers which I got a C and an F on. The class has NOTHING to do with writing, the homework is to watch a 15 min video once a week about the environment. The final is a video project you do mostly in class and its 50%+ of ur graded. Best writing class if you dont like writing. Got a B+

Get. Out. Now. Stuck already? Cry. Possibly the worst professor I have ever had. His instructions never make sense, and any opportunity he gets to clear himself up only makes things worse and more abstract. The constant state of my mind during this class = blown. Don't expect any grade over a C unless your paper is immaculate.

NOT A GOOD PROFESSOR. i agree with all the past comments... you have to spend an insane amount of time doing papers that unless they are perfect.. you'll get a C. Everyone in our class hates him because he makes no sense when he talks. This is not a writing class, this is a "digital technological imagination" class -- and it doesn't help!

People are complaing about the class being hard because they are not strong writers. I don't consider myself that great of a writer, but if you follow his instructions and put some time into the paper you will do ok. He is very tough with grades. Read his comments and do exactly what he tells you to do and you will do alright. I spent an insane amount of time on each of my papers and I still only got a B. He is a tough teacher, but he's a fun guy and he keeps the class interesting. Don't get behind at all or else you are DONE!

I hated this class, and this man more than I can justify in a small blog. His expository writing class is the second worst class I have ever taken in my entire life, next to Senior year high school physics. Avoid Paul Hammond at all costs. He is an impossible grader and a harder person to get along with. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

we wants kids to pass, but he is just a terrible grader. the slightest mistake on the essays and he takes lots of credit off. if the paper isn't immaculate, then it will not be higher than a C. I highly recommend not to take this class if you want to be graded fairly.

This guy is nuts. Not nuts in the class room but he is the lightweight rowing coach at rutgers and trains his guys like no other. Act like you have an interest in rowing and you'll get an A.
