expects a lot from his students like reading the textbook and taking your own notes on what he lectures on. he also requires detailed answers on his mostly-essay exams. however, he is very knowledgeable and his lectures are really interesting. the class influenced my to take on an enviro emphasis. awesome guy, too.

You either love him or hate him. I took fluid mech. with him and I thought it was a total breeze. He made perfect sense to me. I didn't study and didn't do the homework and I got an A...and I usually have to study a lot. Pay very good attention in his class and you should be in good shape...but he does challenge his students.

His lab reports are a pain in the butt! When I took the class, the major reports were either all, 1/2, or nothing. Most of the students got nothing for their reports. He can not make up his mind. He makes up homework on the spot and has no idea if it even works.

Dr. Parker is very intelligent and has high expectations of his students, but his expectations are understandable. He is a fun teacher who likes to have a bit of fun in class. His lectures are primarily verbal and his notes tend to be messy.

Pretty much cant stand this guy. It's a 3 credit class that feels like a 10 credit class w/how much time and effort you put in. He's VERY anal about stuff. Everything must be on time and perfect. Pickiest grader I have ever encountered. I feel I should've gotten an A+++++++++++++++++ for the amount of time I put into that class.

Required course for engineering degree. Parker is a nice and personable instructor. My only problems with the classes he teaches is in the assignment and test instructions; they are all too often vague, and more difficult than what it needs to be (he likes his unit conversions!) Overall, good.

BAD! DO NOT TAKE! Will curve down if neccessary to get perfect curve (1 A for ever F, 1 B for every D, etc.) More work required in his version of this 1 credit class than 4 and 5 credit classes combined. Avoid if at all possible.

Helpful during office hours. Exams every other week seem stressful at first, but prove to create far less stress overall. Lab reports are reasonable, consisiting of an informal writeup. Homework seems excessive at times, but ususually doesn't take long to complete.

He is a great guy to know. Most people think he's dumb, but I think that he really stimulates the intelect by hammering the concepts away. Lots of tests, lots of homework, and the tests are kin d of harsh. Bonus: Short Lab reports.
