Professor Ransom is straight up one of the best professors I've had at AU. Her lectures are always extremely fascinating and keep you engaged all class. She really cares about developing relationships with her students. Also one of the nicest professors I've ever had. Take her courses, you will not be disappointed!

Comment:

I had Professor Ransom for both undergrad and grad school. Both of her classes were amazing. I learned a lot about Corrections. It's been years since I took her classes and I still remember them and keep in touch with her. She's been a great reference and source of encouragement. One of the best professors I had at AU! Love her.

Comment:

Professor Ransom is awesome! I am taking one of her summer online classes and it is fantastic. She responds to emails really quickly and tells you your grade every week. She is really nice and picks great exercises and discussion questions. If you have the opportunity to take her, do it!

Comment:

If you have a chance to take her classes, DO IT! She is extremely knowledgeable, very funny, happy to answer questions, and interested in what students have to say. She also incorporates a lot of current events-type information in class, which is a plus. Finally, she really WANTS everyone to do well in her class. Absolutely one of AU's finest.

Professor Ransom is greattt! I took her death penalty and the law class and she was excellent! There is never a dull day in her class. I would recommend her to anyone.

Comment:

Excellent professor, her lessons are always clear and well prepared. She's extremely knowledgable about prison issues which helps with the wealth of questions her lessons are likely to elicit. Also the jail visit to Allendale Prison (I think she does one every year) in Pennsylvania was beyond amazing. Great sense of humor by the way.

Rainey is a very intelligent, kind professor. While she expects a lot, she is fair. She will go the extra distance to help her students even though she has an extremely busy schedule. Also, she is a sight for sore eyes!

Rainey is by far the sweetest, smartest and most interesting prof at AU. Her classes were always engaging and the field trips to Lorton and Maryland's Death Row were phenomenal. If you don't take a class with her you are missing out.

Comment:

This is one of the greatest Profs I've had - interesting, funny, and you will get to go to prison! The exams aren't bad as long as you study and her grading is very fair. Workload changes from semester to semester, but not too bad.
